Exclamation We have no point guard for 2 weeks

Matt Shepard just said on the DSR aftergame that chauncey is out 10-14 days with a muscle sprain (strain?). The only point guard on the active roster is... the rookie Will Blalock.

We are completely screwed.

I love it!!

Give the rookie some burn, we may need him come playoff time and he will now get some big minutes, hell we may even see AJ now too.

Thank you Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I've been really busy this year, new job and now I'm going back to school a couple weeks so I'll have even less time. I've been reading the boards here and there though.

I have no confidence in Blalock. He just looks like a bum out there. He may be a rookie, but it looks like he has no idea how to do certain things that a PG should always know, like how to pass the ball. He just whips the ball at people or drops it off.

This is the worst year I've ever seen for injuries, for the entire NBA.

Re: We have no point guard for 2 weeks

Hopefully Sheed overcomes the flu quick because he's got to play great now. This is horrible. Chauncey will miss games against:

Nash and the Suns
Paul and the Hornets
Hinrich and the Bulls

The Pistons even if they don't get CB back right after those games should get wins as they face the Iversonless Sixers, Bobcats, Hawks, and Celtics.

That completely sucks that Chauncey will be on the sidelines for the Bulls game.

Re: We have no point guard for 2 weeks

I'm fine with this. I can live with a week or two.

Its still early, we're in good shape in the standings, other teams have their own problems to deal with and there is only 1 team in the East that is on any kind of roll (Washington has won 5 straight, the next highest is 2).

Injuries suck, but this comes at a pretty good time for us. Pre All-star break, plenty of time before the trade deadline so that if we have to make a move we can, and it gives us an opportunity to see what Blalock can or can't do.

Chris Paul is out 3-4 weeks with a sprained ankle so no Billups nor Paul for that game. The Hornets beat AI and the Nuggets without Paul, so the Pistons can do it w/o Billups if they play smart.

The longer Sheed is out sick, the more chance Amir gets into the rotation. With Flip Saunders as a coach, adversity is a good friend.
