I can see Washington possibly winning two rounds and advancing to the ECF, before losing. I'm not saying they will, but I can't say with confidence that Detroit, Miami, Cleveland, Chicago, or Orlando will be there either. At least not right now.

Can you?
YES.

I live in the Wiz backyard and I know this team.

The east is weak but when the Wiz become the best team in the EC the NBA has gone to hell in a handbasket........at least if it happens this year!

Just looking at the standings, and there is only one team in the East with a winning road record...the Pistons. In the playoffs their will be games that you have to win on the road. The Bulls and Cavs are close in record to the Pistons because they have faced less WC teams, and have played more home games.

Re: Pistons best of the worst

It took 20 games for the Pistons to asert themselves. With CB and Sheed not 100% it will take another 20 games to reasert the Pistons.
The cream is still rising. Just slow as molasses.

Re: Pistons best of the worst

pistons are still the best team in the east. chauncey's injury is a blessing in disguise. it will expose flip murray and break delfino out. flip will be traded and all will be well.

if we face orlando in the playoffs i'm worried. d. howard is a beast, grant will be healthy, ariza is breaking out, darko shuts people down. they have the pieces if grants body and leadership can hold them together they can make it to the finals.

They also have Jameer Nelson as their starting point guard, and he's worse defensively than Earl Boykins.

Blog post from the IndyStar about the East sucking so bad...

Pat Riley’s leave of absence as Miami’s coach only adds further emphasis to what already was becoming obvious. The Eastern Conference is wide open.

It’s an opening so wide that almost any team can get through it.

Run a finger through the standings and you can’t find a team without some fundamental flaw that should prevent it from reaching the Finals.

Some of those fundamental flaws will be worked out as the season goes. And some new flaws will be found.

.
"It will expose Flip Murray."

"And break delfino out."

Only half correct their jay. I wish Chauncey will stay on the bench, and Delfino would be given a chance.

Re: Pistons best of the worst

I dunno. Jay is kinda right. Delfino has definitely broken out. That might not stop the coach from limiting his minutes, but just prior to CB going down, Flip Murray was buried in the rotation.

Carlos is giving us everything we could expect from an 8th man, maybe even a 7th.

Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."
