Re: Official trade thread

How's about one of our bigs (Nazr, McDyess or Davis) for M. Pietrus. He's going to be the odd-man out in Oakland, and has shown to be a solid defender, shooter and rebouder as a SG/SF. Maybe like Bonzi who can shoot the 3-ball, without the baggage. Any thoughts?

Re: Official trade thread

Dumars4Ever has corrected me. Apparently the trade deadline is Feb 22. I must have grabbed bad info back in the preseason when I posted it to the calendar.

So, Trade Deadline = Feb 22. My bad.

His game has intrigued me for a few seasons now. I think that with the rise of Matt Barnes Pietrus is definitely the odd man out and he's a better wing player than anybody on our team not named Rip, I think that he could give Tay a run.

roscoe: other stuff moved to Trade thread in NBA Stuff forum

in response to MainManJoeD and KGREG's on-topic suggestions, I also like Pietrus and agree that he might be available, particularly with Chris Mullin's history as GM. His game isn't really anything like Bonzi Wells', though; Bonzi is at his best when he's on the low block, while is a Corey Maggette-like slasher/shooter. He has Maggette's streaky jumpshot and tendency for bad decision-making as well, but he usually makes a positive impact on offense and he's a much better defender than either Maggette or Wells. He's a lot like Delfino, actually, although he's a much more aggressive scorer and not nearly as good a rebounder. If he's available, he's exactly the kind of player the Pistons could use.

Re: Official trade thread

Joe was on WDFN, spoke about trading one of the six big men.

I will endeavour to get it posted after the game. I found it interesting.

You are right, he is nothing like Wells, and does play a lot like Delfino. So maybe we don't need another if we've got one. Based on following his fantasy progress this year, he actually seems to be quite a good rebounder for a wing player ~6 per game in less than starter minutes, and shoots the ball at a high percentage from 2 and 3 as well. Poor Ft shooter, though, but he doesn't shoot a lot.

Seems to have a great attitude, plays hard all the time. But back-up PG should be our main concern for the moment.

Re: Official trade thread

Count me in on the Nazr 4 Pietrus trade (need salay filler)... that boy can play defense to boot.
