Re: Back up Guard

I think Marcus Banks the little used PG in PHX is worth at least a look. He is a good defender....a streaky shooter....inconsistent overall but was able to put up good numbers in Minny.

Contracts are the same length but we'd need to through in Flip, Blalock or Dupree to get the amounts similar...

Re: Back up Guard

I'd be happy with Delfino backing up CB and Rip and heading out to look for a scorer / slasher to back up Tay. Putting all the baggage issues aside, on paper, Bonzi is what the team needs more than a guard.

Re: Back up Guard

Have Delfino and Blalock split backup point minutes. Any trade we make should address stopping Shaq. No, Dale Davis can't gaurd Shaq. We need a big center. Until then, no way we use what we have to trade for a point.

Re: Back up Guard

I say give Dupree a chance at it. He's a talented guy who has a big presence, incredible ups and he's a great team player.

Re: Back up Guard

I agree with bringing back freckle face... Ack Attack. Let's buy him out of that contrack with Greece and sign him up for the next 4 years.

Other than that, I think Flip Murray is the best choice for a backup, due to his versatility. Murray is a good enough backup for the 1, 2, and 3 (small-ball) to help ease the playing time load and fill in for short-term injuries until the post-season.

Bottom line is that if Rip or CB go down permanently, we ain't gonna win it all. Besides, we all know those guys are gonna get ridden so hard by Saunders in the post season that there will be no time for a backup. I don't want management making moves to improve the team from 5th best to 3rd best. That is wasting the war-chest.
