Three Pistons to be fined

MILWAUKEE — Amir Johnson and Carlos Delfino were late to Monday's practice, and Flip Murray was not there at all. Johnson overslept and missed the team plane to Milwaukee, while Delfino had one of his connecting flights from Argentina delayed, which resulted in him showing up to practice late. And Murray's flight was supposed to get in from Cincinnati, but it too was delayed to the point where he couldn't make it to practice at all.

Pistons coach Flip Saunders said all three players will be fined.

Also, Richard Hamilton did not practice on Monday because of a right finger injury that happened in Sunday's All-Star game. He's being listed as probable by team officials.

Good article Merc. I liked the one by the writer talking about the possible Mike James deal too.

This stuff is always appreciated even though we don't tell you and the other folks every time.

After a long lay-off, this is not an unusual happening. Players need constant baby-sitting and when they are left out on their own in the real world, complications set in. Flip is right to hold-hard team policy and fine them.

Blakely is advocating what I have said months ago. I would be surprised if Houston let him go since Bonzi is a money ballplayer. He should let it rip for the second half of the season and this guy is an unstoppable slasher and we all know that the pistons are flush in this area. Give him 30 minutes a game and he will out rebound Tay and Sheed combined. And probably out score them too. CWEBB would start to see a lot more motion in his passing lanes.

this reminds me of Band of Brothers where guys who came back late from leave were drummed out of the battalion.

In the short term, Lindsey is probably a better matchup against Michael Redd than Rip is, but in the long term... what kind of injury?

Re: Three Pistons to be fined

I have never understood guys scheduling flights so they get into a taxi and head straight to practice. Surely they can arrange their flights to be in town several hours in advance....

That's lousy about AJ. I thought he was living with his mom in Detroit. Someone should have kicked his behind.

Re: Three Pistons to be fined

I remember when I had trips in college coach would want us at the bus at a certain time and people would always show up late--captains, bad guys, good guys etc. Its just the nature of large group events.
