[UConn]
it's a rebuilding year...we'll be back in the mix...I haven't even looked at the bracket yet, that's the sad part about it...I do have a NIT bracket that I'm passing around
[when you guys get in quicksand you pull yourselves out quickly]
we don't call it quicksand...the games that we lose it's something that easily could be fixed...most of the time it's just our effort
we got down big against the last couple of teams, we can't allow ourselves to do that and think we're going to come back in the fourth quarter
when you're on the road you gotta pay attention to detail a little bit more, when you're at home you can play a little bit loose because you've got the fans behind you
it's fun playing in other people's gyms and coming out with silence in the crowd, you get a thrill
effort is everything--if we want to play defense we're going to play defense, on offense if we want to share the ball and attack the basket we can do that, so it's just all effort, putting our minds together to go out for 48 minutes and saying we're going to play hard and dominate the game from beginning to end
sometimes we get lackadaisical and think we can do that for only 24 minutes instead of 48
[upcoming games with Phoenix and Dallas]
we don't make a big thing about it
you can't say what the best conference is until the end of the season, who's holding the trophy
[people are saying you would have no shot in the finals]
that's the great thing about it--that's the thing that we love
[techs: are the refs watching you closer?]
I think they always watch us--it's something we gotta be a little patient with and just allow our game to do the talking
Sheed's last technical wasn't nothing but him saying "the ball don't lie," something that he says every game
it's tough, but we just gotta find a way to get through it
[he literally just said "the ball don't lie"?]
that was it--that was the funny part about it, so I just knew the NBA was going to take it back, but they didn't
[your cheapest foul this year?]
aw man, I remember I got a flagrant foul at half court for going for a steal
[Seattle]
it's a game we want to come out and get--we want to establish the temp and come out with a great effort and it should be ours
[Ray Allen]
he's still one of the best guards in the league--age is just a number, it's what you do out on the floor |
