Re: Joe D's Draft Record

Ok....Hmm

I disagree with Cardinal. I think he was a reasonable pick. The guy worked hard and hard work we all appreciate.

Glinny was a project pick. We all knew that. Aw c'mon, you truly don't expect all our picks to play right? We got to have somebody like Amir stashed away. Glinny could have been that. But I think he was a reasonable 2nd rounder.

Blalock and Acker? Well, what do you expect to get that deep in the 2nd round?

DMC, turned out BAD but was a good pick at the time.

Cleaves was a bad pick and so was White.

You make a good point. His picks really aren't bad. The utilization of those picks are what stink! Maybe he was just a victim of soicomstance!

Re: Joe D's Draft Record

I'm not feeling this disrespect for my man, Samb.

Re: Joe D's Draft Record

I would move:

Darko to the ugly
Cardinal to the good
Acker to the unknown

Re: Joe D's Draft Record

Isn't Acker currently in the unknown category?

I personally feel like we have a pretty good idea of what kind of player he is at this point. Same with AJ. The next step is actually incorporating them into our plans.

Joe's picks for the most part have been good, it's what happens to the players afterwards that's the problem. We have totally mishandled almost every pick except for Tay.

But for pure hindsight draft day picking, you have to move Darko to ugly(please don't revoke my DHOF card) because of who he was picked ahead of. Though we'd be better now, you have to wonder if we win a title that year if we had rookie versions of Wade, Carmello, or Bosh competing for minutes.

Cardinal to good, any production out of a 2nd rounder is good.

And JMax to bad, only for being picked ahead of David Lee.

You make a good point. I like Lee's game a lot also.
