| Re: Irregardless of what happens in the playoffs I won't vote. I say if we win it all, CWEBB will return. At this point, I doubt we can get past Miami. Its a shame too, because we do have the talent to win it all, just not a coach wise enough to play the right players. Basically, we will lose to Miami, and Joe will see that the team as constructed ain't going anywhere. He will then do a bit of rebuilding. Too bad again, because all he has to do is keep the players, and lose the coach.
Comment on Chris Webber. How soon people forget. Just before Webber got the flu, he was averaging nearly a 20-10 for several games. Last game, he returned to double double form. Not 20-10 yet, but there is no reason that as he recovers fully from the flu and gets back into game shape a bit that he won't return to the 20-10 games.
With that said, you know what, as good as Webber is, we could be doing just as well without him. Mohammed was a mistake. If we had not signed Mohammed, we could have instead moved Maxiell in as the starter with Davis coming off the bench. Amir Johnson would also be part of the rotation, and we could even be using him as a small forward part of the time.
While I am on the subject, retaining Hunter and signing Flip Murray are two more mistakes, mistakes that will be corrected for next year. Instead, we could have used Blalock and Delfino as the backup guards this year, and seen no dropoff at all in ball handling between these two and the starting group. We would have a nice flow on our offense at all times. (With the great added bonus of having solid defenders in at all times in the backcourt this season-no Murray refusing to play D those first few months.) |
