Dupree traded

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons traded forward Ronald Dupree to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday for a future second-round pick, clearing a roster spot for rookie guard Alex Acker.
Dupree averaged 3.2 points in 47 games last season after signing a two-year contract with the Pistons. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 6.2 points as a rookie with Chicago in 2003-04 season after almost making Detroit's team as an undrafted free agent.
The Pistons made the move to clear a spot on the roster for Acker, the 60th and final pick overall. The 6-foot-5 guard entered the draft after his junior season at Pepperdine.

Good trade

I like Dupree a lot, but the kid deserves some time with the camp/work he put in. Going to a good situation where swing players are in demand. Aslo, in the West so we don't have to worry. I would have been pissed if he went to the Spurs or Indy/Chi as rumored.

Ok

Thanks for the news....

Finally something tangible for Dupe. He is a great player in my book and would have loved to keep him here. But he deserved playing time and elsewhere was where it was.

So hope you drop 40 and 10 on us Dupe, but we win the game.

See you around in the future.

i'm happy that Dupree will get some PT in Minny. i'm also glad he's not on a team that would be in contention with us. i'm sure JoeD was aware of keeping him on a team that isn't directly competing with us.

Difference in Pond sizes

In all my playing days in all sports, I would rather be a player on a team that might not be as good as some others, rather than be a non-factor on a team that won a 'ship. Playing is why we are on the teams rather than sitting and watching your peers compete and riding on their coattails.

I would rather be a big frog in a small pond than a tiny frog in a big pond.

Sorry to see Ron go but he is in a better place.

I felt like yhis would happen. JD looks out for the best intrest of the player (see mike james) If they can get some PT somewhere, he will help them. This a class move by Joe D and shows why players love this guy!
