| I use Registry Mechanic and Registry Fix. I started with RM and used it for a number of years and recently added Registry Fix. I added Registry Fix because I found some dangling files in my registry that RM was not cleaning and I never do any manual changes to my registry, so I got Registry Fix and it was able to clean up those files and improve the performance of my system. I believe that you can download both programs for free and run them on your computer. It will give you a good idea of all the features that each has, in addition to cleaning your registry. You can just "Google" their names and download sites for each will come up. When you run the unlicensed (free) version of both programs it will show you what your registry related problems are but when you go to click repair the free versions will clean only certain files, far in the minority of what it would had you had the licensed version. I don't know if any of the other functions in these two programs besides the file cleaning function work in the unlicensed version. The licensed version of each is as I recall just under $40 per license, which entitles you (and only allows you, unless you hack it) to put the licensed copy on a single computer. I do not recommend ever hacking or asking another person to hack your software or hardware that violates the license agreement for any product. I am also running a free program called CCleaner, which cleans unneeded files other than registry files. It is however free, so if you don't pay for a registry cleaning program you can at least clean files that Windows "Disk Cleanup" does not get. I have placed below a couple of links to sites having links to various registry cleaning programs. Keep in mind that anytime that you are messing with the Registry in a Windows operating system you are playing with fire. If you get a software that messes up your registry instead of fixing it you could have a heck of a problem on your hands. I had this happen with Registry Mechanic when I used its "Compact Your Registry" feature. Fortunately I was able to restore my prior version of my Registry system. Both Registry Mechanic and Registry Fix create backups of your Registry system before you clean the registry which is a must have feature for any registry cleaning software. Because of the risk inherent in messing with the registry in Windows XP I would highly recommend that you thoroughly research any registry cleaning software before you download it and use it. Good luck and remember with computers, you can never be too cautious. These registry cleaning programs are advertised as free. Free registry cleaner downloads Tucows is a very good site for downloading all kinds of software. I believe that all of the software on their site is either shareware (pay on a voluntary basis or some other not full license basis or regular for license software, though there may be free-ware on their site. | I thought of creating a new thread entitled "That Real Amir Johnson" for this article but this is the main thread for AJ, so this is where it belongs. Quote:

| Re: Amir Johnson - Detroit Piston Tracker Interesting article on NBA.com: Official Home Page of National Basketball Association front page about Amir Johnson stepping up from the D-league. Mo McHone, who coached Johnson with the Skyforce, raved about his potential in an interview with Hoopsworld.com. He spoke about the hypothetical scenario of Johnson being available in the 2007 Draft after what would have been his sophomore year of college basketball. “If I were picking, would I pick (Greg) Oden and (Kevin) Durant ahead of him? I probably would. But after that, I can’t imagine who I would take over him, after having coached him. I’m not saying there isn’t somebody else out there, but having coached him, watched him and seeing what his potential is … I know this, if you’re in the top 10 and the last guy you ended up with was Amir Johnson, you’d have to be happy. And if you got him at (No. 56) where Detroit got him, you’ve got to be ecstatic.” As far as how tall he is...Paul Davis is 6' 11" and Amir looks a tad shorter. ![]() Here he is a little taller than Carmelo who is 6' 8" and I would say it's safe to say he's around 6'9"-6'10" since I know there's been so much speculation on his height. ![]() |
