No it wouldn't otherwise AJ would not have gotten up wanting to go in.

One of the coaches probably called "Amir" and then they realized their mistake and put Wally into the game instead. Smart move to not embarrass the youngster.

That is not all correct. I've seen Flip screaming from the sidelines lately for them to push the ball while these 33 year old vets just have a casual walk up the court. Running requires a certain mindset and commitment that this team does not have. That's why Max, AJ, and AA need to be on the court together those 3 will indeed get out and run with Stuckey.

I'll take your word for it, then. I probably just overlooked that. However, I don't think Flip is comfortable playing that many young players at the same time other than in garbage time.

Of all our young players, I think Afflalo fits best with the starters' style of play, but is capable of playing at a faster pace as well. Playing with the slow-down style of the vets hurts Stuckey a little, and to a lesser extent, Maxiell. Of the starters, Rip, and sometimes Tay seem more inclined to run, while the other 3 (in particular Chauncey) want to walk it up. I would propose going with a lineup of Stuckey, Rip/Afflalo, Tay/Hayes, Amir and Maxiell on the floor. It's a faster, more athletic alternative to Flip's preferred small ball lineup of Chauncey/Stuckey, Tay/Hayes, Rip, Herrmann, and Sheed/Max. I think that frontcourt would work against most frontcourts, like Chicago's.

On the thread topic: With all 3 of our rotation bigs slumping, I think it would be a good idea to get Amir some time to see if he can help. Our anemic frontcourt has been a problem as of late.

Even in g time, Amir usually comes in last (after the 2 guys who just joined the freakin' team), and for only a few minutes.
and usually ends up with a better stat line then both of them combined.

Yep, flip alone has been more energetic than staring 5. He tries to send his messages but seems that all those are for deafs ears. And I do not believe that this much-discussed "new coach" would be more sucessful at this.

Re: Amir Johnson - Detroit Piston Tracker

Hey, what is vegas putting the odds at that Flip says Amir is not playing because he lost his teddy bear when he was 8 and he's not emotionally over it yet.

Give me a break, Flip is such an idiot and hypocrite. He says he need "strength and experience". How the hell do you get experience playing 2 min. in a blowout.

How many games are we up 20 and going into the fourth and Amir comes in with 5 min. left??? Play him, and let him work through his mistakes. At least give him the opportunity to fail instead of not even giving him that chance.

Joe D. please can Flip and either take over the team or bring in Bill Laimbeer.

My take is that AJ's parents stole that bear and their son takes punishment
for this.

do not underestimate me, I'm not a spy, I'm something worse: a virus!

In order to give out those player-friendly contracts, I need huge sums of money. Everyone who has visited this site, has thanks to me, "contributed" to pistons' salary ! How, you're asking? Check your accounts...
