Wouldn't you rather go inside if this was a simple robbery? Perhaps Flip is lucky he was not kidnapped or worse. It also seems like he may have been set up by his female friend or friends.

Someone here said, "Lets not blame the victim, blame the men with the guns." I have to disagree. The simple fact is when you are anyone of stature in this country and your income is known by everyone there are certain places you should not patron if you want to be safe and not the target of a crime or someone trying to make a name for themself. If you do chose to patron these establishments and mingle with average joe's then you need to take precautions like being aware of your surroundings and not taking the same way home. Also if you think you are being followed don't freaking pull into your sub.
I agree. I think he was set up by the girl that followed in him the car. Seems too easy. Glad he was not injured or killed.

Word on the street is that a man driving a 76 Pinto drove by Flip's house... as he was shooting he was shouting "you're in Blalock's way"... the only thing witnesses saw was a bumper sticker that said "Go Mo Pete" and a Pepe Sanchez bobblehead on the dashboard.

Hmmm...If it's the guy I'm thinking about he never misses when he shoots.

Re: Flip Murray :: Under Fire

I don't think there's anything wrong with going to a club or strip club if you're grown. But doesn't sound like a "home invasion" (unless these were first time criminals out to get a quick buck of a hoop star)...which isn't unfeasible.

I'd hope Flip has a gun...but then again, we don't want basketball players to carry guns.

its really sad though--you can't have the fun that a normal 25-28 year old male would have (going to a strip club) because of your profession?

Flip Murray is making $1.75 million this year. I don't feel sorry for him because of his limited social activities calendar.

Re: Flip Murray :: Under Fire

The bigger issue for me is Flip being out until the wee hours the night before a game.

You can't be pulling these kinds of hijinx in the playoffs.

Is he here to win a title or to have a good time?

I am not saying he doesn't have a right to have fun, but, you have to be smart about it. Why not go to a more upscale establishment that caters to high profile clients. I highly doubt any strip club in Southwest Detroit fills this requirement.

Also as Roscoe pointed out partying the night before a game is troublesome especially when the playoffs are approaching. It seems like he is not focused fully on basketball.
