| Re: Will Blalock - Sioux Falls Skyforce Tracker Blalock played in several pre-season games for us, and got into 14 games during the regular season. So we don't have to rely on his performance in the D-League or college to evaluate him.
Will Blalock plays solid D. He can stay in front of his guy, and rotate well.
Will Blalock can consistently get inside the defense and pass to an open teammate.
This year, the best we have seen as far as backup minutes to Billups, have come from Will Blalock. I will describe it this way: With Hunter or Flip Murray, every once in a while they will do something ok as a point guard, like make a nice pass, or get inside the defense and dish to an open teammate. In contrast, most times down the floor, Blalock does something ok as a point guard. On defense, he is as effective as Hunter. Hunter can occasionally rally and do better than Blalock, but Blalock never lacks energy whereas Hunter sometimes just does not have it. (I won't even bring Murray into the discussion. Murray is lost out there on defense for the most part) |
