I'm pretty impressed that this Sour Note has taken off so well. Long overdue respect for the author of an underrated article series.
Thx!!!

Anyone who lets Hubert "Hairy Back" Davis play is a bigtime go-to-the-bench coach.

THAT is a viewpoint one will never be able to debate.

I REALLY thought that going into Tuesday night...only to be disappointed by an even WORSE game than game 4.

Hopefully the Pistons left their pantyhose & high heels at the Palace for tonight's game. These guys gotta play some SERIOUS D, get on the glass, get in the paint to open the perimeter, and stay outta foul trouble.

They actually have to put in effort to win an NBA game. I hope Flip was going over it daily after games 4 and 5. They need that constant reminder.

Re: [HVC] SOUR NOTE: Where’s that darn switch???!!!

Daddy Rich was interviewed on 1270 today and commented that when the players show up unwilling to play at 100% there is very little a coach can do. He also mentioned that to break players out of a funk he would change up the routine i.e. no practice, short drive etc. He thinks the Pistons will win tonight having been stung by their two losses.

The problem with Pistons is that there is no catalyst. No one knows what it takes for them to play at 100%. Flip, for sure, can't figure it out. And I don't think as well that he can influence it in any way shape or form. He will definitely try, but it's not gonna work unless the players do it on the court.

Re: [HVC] SOUR NOTE: Where’s that darn switch???!!!

We are not free and clear of that bloody switch. Great game to put away the Bulls but I am sure we will see more of this to come.

For quite awhile the Pistons did not have much of a bench. We are getting one back now but did not have much of one for the past 2 prior seasons. So i believe the Starters had to pace themselfs in the regular season and thats where all this started. Problem is if they are conditioned to pacing themselfs then its hard to turn it on at will in the post-season. So far its really only been about 4 quarters in all 10 games of the post season so far.
