Skiles hopes are still high Quote:
The Bulls discussed what they think of The Palace's atmosphere, which could be especially nutty for a close-out game. One theme kept coming up from Skiles, Ben Wallace , Brown and Ben Gordon : the loud and nutty hecklers at The Palace.
The way the Bulls tell it, some Palace fans have the manners of guests on "The Jerry Springer Show."
"They can get obnoxious up there, they're saying a lot of different things," Brown said about Pistons fans. "They're great fans. They're like Chicago fans or New York fans, best sports fans in the business.
"You've got to feed off of that. You can't look at it as a negative. You've got to look at it like, 'Hey, let's put the ball in the basket, get a dunk or something. Let's shut these guys up.'"
Gordon joked he'd sometimes like to do something more about the hecklers. He was reminded The Palace already has endured a bad fight between fans and opposing players, courtesy of the Pacers.
"I can't do that -- I can't afford that," Gordon said, smiling at the thought of all the fines and suspensions incurred from The Palace brawl.

Anyone remember
Leon the Barber? Armygirl? congoman?
He was the legendary heckler who would sit behind the Pistons bench and drive the home team players and coaches nuts. He was a homer who had no problem hating on the home team. I remember reading that he helped drive Dick Vitale crazy at Cobo Arena.
Some consider him the greatest heckler in basketball history (Bill Walton). Players would actually try to become his friend so he wouldn't scream at them all game.
I think he passed away a few years ago.
