we'll get to at least the 2nd round if we find a way to keep Chauncey. Pretty non-committal eh?

I don't care, it would be a complete mulligan.

Get Amir lots of time, pay Chauncey 2x the max salary.

Re: IF WE WIN THE 'SHIP THIS YEAR, THEN NEXT YEAR....?

1. Draft for success at the #15 slot (True PG) or Jeff Green if available
2. Amir gets more time, the first/second big man off the bench
3. JMAX & Amir PTPers
4. Hunter goes to the front office or Pistons Asst.
5. Webber stays but takes up room on the bench with spot minutes
6. Grant Hill stays far, far, away, but I have a sinking feeling that Joe D. will sign him to a minimum contract.
7. Cheik Samb keeps gaining wait and gets a few minutes per game
8. Since CB will probably come back after Joe offer him a sweet deal, he will play with a big head unfortunately
9. Joe will find another diamond in the rough with the last pick in the 1ST round of the draft.
10. We will get another steal in the 2ND round.
11. Tayshaun will become the leader of this team.
12. And yes, the core players will stay intact.

Re: IF WE WIN THE 'SHIP THIS YEAR, THEN NEXT YEAR....?

TO ME, that ends our 5 year run. Lets take a year off and plan our next 5 yr run by:

-Signing Billups to a 4 yr deal as he and Rip get ready to have their number's hoisted as the first retirees of this new era,

- Trade Sheed to the Lakers for Wil Bynum. LA cant afford the luxury of rebuilding. Who knows? Maybe we can go Sheed , Mohammed and Acker for Bynum and Farquar?

- Resign Webber for one more year. I believe he can nuture Maxiel and Johnson better than the hotheaded Sheed. I know he cant move but I think he will get in good shape for one last hurrah, where I think Sheed
will come back as fat as ever.

- Someone put Tay on a weight program AND teach him how to use his right hand. If learns to make the lefty jump hook without going into the middle and develop a right handed drop step, he 'will' get 18 PPG.

- Of course, find 12 minutes a night for Amir. He seems to still have the brains of a teenager so we might still be 2 years away with him.

- Find a way to make Flip Murray the 6th man of the year. I think we still have to much focus on CB and rip and some play like they HAVE to get the ball. But Flip Murray has to be more aggresive and shoot with less hesistation. If so, I will promise to still hate him.

PLAYERS TO MOVE: WALLACE, DAVIS, HUNTER, MOHAMMAD, DUPREE,ACKER

Fire the coach and run the star player out of town.

Just kidding.

I don't know. Would be a nice question to debate over the summer - I can tell you that.

Re: IF WE WIN THE 'SHIP THIS YEAR, THEN NEXT YEAR....?

No need to take a year off because Detroit will still be the team to beat in the EC.

Need to let Delfino, JMax, Amir and Samb play together much more often and whatever PG they get in the draft. I can just see JMax (after a thunderous dunk) bench-press Amir and Samb simultaneously like two dumbells as the other team calls a timeout to stop the bleeding.

Turn Sheed into a part-time player and part-time commentator alongside Blaha. Would need a 5-second delay, however, on the broadcast to catch all the expletives.

Re-sign Chauncey.

I say let Webber walk unless he takes a huge pay cut. I kind of think the guy is done (watch him prove me wrong against Cleveland). I've always stuck up for Webber but sometimes I think his heart is half the size of Sheed's.

Let McDyess start, which clears the way for Amir to come off the bench. Will have to have a backup center (Samb, I guess).

Re: IF WE WIN THE 'SHIP THIS YEAR, THEN NEXT YEAR....?

we will win it again next year, assuming two primary things. #1 we sign Billups. #2 Chicago doesn't trade Ben and their #1 pick in the draft for Kevin Garnett. Chicago could be deadly if they pulled that one off.
