Nah, I've seen a few interviews with guys from that team....I think Laimbeer said it most recently. It really didn't exist, but everyone kept asking what their secret was to holding Jordon to around 18 ppg (with the 40+ exception from time to time) against us when he was clearly averaging 30+ against most other teams.
Someone (Daly or player) came out in some interview with the "Jordan Rules" and everyone took it and ran with it. So our guys and Daly played along knowing it really didn't exist as an actual planned strategy. The best part is, the Bulls players to this day still refer to us using the "Jordan Rules" against them which is pure comedy and lets you know how much we really were in their heads.
A lot of it had to do with the fact that while other teams were parting the lane like the Red Sea when Jordan drove....we were sending 3 guys to knock him on his arse. Which is perfect because you can clobber him with 3 guys, inflict 3x the punishment, and only one foul can be called.
That way, if it doesn't discourage him from driving, he'll at least be all bruised and sore which would definitely affect is play over the length of a 7 game series.
