Yes. Now all we have to do is get rid of them, and start the winning!

The answer is simple. We need to stay away from big men with the last name that starts with a W.

I believe it has something to do with the bitterness of being so close to an M, only upside down.

Re: Ground Zero Fallout

I've been informed that the sources on the CWebb meltdown are rock solid.

It was not pretty in the Pistons locker room following game 6 in Cleveland saturday night. I have heard from a few good sources that following his postgame and now post-season speech, Flip Saunders got an earful from a very angry and verbose Chris Webber. Apparently C-Webb did not take too well to what Saunders had to say to his team and basically shouted at him "that's it" and "that is the best you got"? There were other obscenities mixed in there as well. This coming from a guy who averaged under 10 points per game in the playoffs and 6 rebounds. Maybe Flip will share Webber war stories with Mo Cheeks?

Here's a look from outside:

PISTONS THOUGHTS

The Pistons showed signs of age and maybe a little complacency in the conference finals -- but more than anything, they were just done in by a great player. They could occasionally contain James when it came to scoring, but not from distributing.

Only one Pistons starter will be younger than 30 next season (Tayshaun Prince, who will be 28). Billups is a free agent, but it's hard to imagine him moving on. Everyone with the possible exception of Chris Webber is likely to be back. Webber is 34 with scrambled eggs for knees, and is considering retirement.

Shooting guard Richard Hamilton still must be considered a key piece if the Pistons want to get back on top. He is NEVER the problem when things go wrong.

Ditto for coach Flip Saunders. Anyone who suggests otherwise doesn't know basketball.

The Pistons won't get anything of equal value for forward Rasheed Wallace. He's 33 with a huge contract. And as Krista Jahnke wrote in the Detroit Free Press, his constant arguing with officials is "a problem that becomes less and less tolerable when a team isn't winning." Basically, it would take a miracle to trade the guy -- not that the Pistons necessarily want to.

But the Pistons have to do SOMETHING. They can't come back with the same lineup. They are starting to become the team that can get to the conference finals -- and that's it. They were outplayed for all but about 15-20 minutes of the entire series against Cleveland. Remember the first two games? The Cavs could have (and should have) won both.
