Is Joe D looking to replace Tay as a starter??

Delfino is gone, so who will be Tay`s backup? It is no secret what the Pistons will be looking for in the free agent market this summer.

Is it possible Dumars will try and land someone to push Tay? Perhaps, even take his starting spot?

It would hopefully prevent Flip from wearing him out, if Tay was coming off the bench.

One thing Dumars said in his interview last week that was peculiar refered to MPG. He indicated that some starters may have their minutes reduced, he added, if that happens don`t complain.

Was Prince one of those starters?

I think you raise a good point here, this may very well be the case. If you're right, dont be surprised to see us take Al Thornton or Thaddeus Young in the Draft (if there of course).

I'm very excited about getting Thornton or Thaddeus. Wouldn't mind that at all. I think Thornton is much more ready to produce, as we all know; Thaddeus may have the higher ceiling.

From what Joe has said this past week, I have to believe that Amir will be getting Delfino's minutes. I think most of us agree that AJ has the skills to push Tay a little bit, but I don't see Tay being pushed out his starter spot...at least not this coming season.

Nick Young is better than Thaddeus Young.

But I think we can all can agree that youth will be served, because both of these guys are young.

If Tay is replaced by another 3, this will be one of the biggest mistakes made by a GM in any league. Tay will demand a trade and we will be in the toilet. Mark my words. Tay, believe me is invaluabe we just need to reduce his minutes some, the guy is one of the better two-way players in the league. In my mind invaluable, just my opinion.

Amir replaces Delfino... I was hoping that Delfino would be moved to the 2 and Amir would be the 3 leaving Flip Murray out of the lineup.

I wonder how many people were saying that about Ginobili.

After what we just saw from these players, they all better just do what's best for the team or get out of town, IMO.

I agree with your assessment of Tay's talent but I'm to the point of "we don't negotiate with terrorists" when these players want to complain about where they get their minutes from and when. If the starting shooting guard and small forward only play thirty minutes apiece, there's 36 minutes left over for Tayshaun Prince.

If he's got such a conceited problem with not having his name called by Mason before tip-off, screw him. He's not Piston material. Ship him out of town.

I totally agree with your above statements but it takes a special and selfless personality to go from a primetime starter to becoming the 6th man on the bench. I just dont know if it is in Tay's personality to take somewhat of a backseat, and I would really loathe it if we lost this guy. I cannot stress this enough, we need to keep Tay.
