I agree with you on the nuclear power though. It has about as much bang for the buck and as few side effects as any source. It is amazing how much energy can be generated from such a small amount of material.

Chernobyl gave the whole industry a bad name.
Even before Chernobyl, most Americans were pretty nervous about nuclear power; Three Mile Island caused quite a scare.

Last year's Chicago Bulls Media Day was dominated by the news of Ben Wallace's arrival. The way reporters crowded around The Body last October, you'd think the guy was a Beatle. While it may have been Wallace's intimidating presence that fueled the hopes of the Windy City early last season, the hopes of Chicago seemed to have fallen into the lap of somebody else by the end of the 2007 Bulls playoff run.
Somebody a little more unexpected.
Somebody like Luol Deng.

Lindsey Hunter: Is he Pistons coach or guard?

Quote:
Veteran Pistons point guard Lindsey Hunter hasn't done much to clear up confusion over his player/coach label. Asked at Monday's media day what his role is, he said, "I don't have a role."
Asked then if he's a player or a coach, he said, "Yeah. Kind of. Whatever ... I do everything."

Billups said that doesn't mean he can start bossing his teammates around.

"He can act like he can," Billups said with a smile and a shake of his head.

Really, though, Billups said Hunter should be an equally strong influence on the young guards.

"Lindsey's going to be in a great position this year because as well as myself, they have Lindsey to look to for some guidance and encouragement," Billups said. "What better guard can you have, especially defensively and with principles and how to play than Lindsey Hunter? He can get out there and not just talk about it but do it, too."

Quote:
French basketball star Tony Parker confirmed Wednesday that he will be taking a two-year break from national team duty but will return to compete in the 2009 European championships in Poland.
The 25-year-old guard for NBA champions San Antonio Spurs said that he made the decision after talking to Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich.
"I had a chance to talk with Pop (Popovich) about the recent eurobasket. He was clear when he said that I won't be participating in the qualification, next September, for the Euro 2009," Parker, who this year became the first European to be the most valuable player in the NBA finals, told his website.
"He wants me take a rest, much like Manu Ginobili did this summer by not playing the tournament of the Americas, tournament that was the Olympic Games qualifier.
"Of course, he has no problem with me playing the Euro 2009 in Poland. I will thus have a two years hiatus from the national team.
"They know that the national team is something special for me but they think it is now the best time for me to take a much deserved break and rest my body."
Parker has meanwhile defended France coach Claude Bergeaud after their disastrous European campaign where they failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.
"When you have a poor performance it is normal for the media to jump on you but you have no right to treat Claude like a dog. This irritates me. The coach has a certain responsibility in this loss but what do you do with the players.
"It is not Claude who was on the court. You have to admit that the players were not playing well but I still believe that this team was better than the one from 2005."

There is a awful lot of truth to what C-Bill says about the tremendous help that Lindsey will be to the rookie guards because like him they both love to play a hard nosed aggressive defense and he will be teaching them some valuable tricks of the trade, NBA style.

LeBron: We Get No Respect - FanHouse - AOL Sports Blog

Quote:
LeBron takes that kind of talk personally, as well he should--whatever happens with the Cavs is a direct result of James's gifts, and his career's progress is measured by the team's success. But when anyone else tries to stick up for the team's honor, the results are almost laughable:
"That's something everybody has to deal with until you win it all," Larry Hughes said. "That's just the competition part of it. We lost a few times last season to the Pistons and got down 0-2 in the playoffs, but we still believed we could beat them."
In that case Larry, learn to live with it, because you're not going to win it all. That Pistons series was impressive, but it'll go down as this team's greatest accomplishment. And we'll look back at it as an anomaly, not the beginning of a trend.
