Obviously not. I thought we could all pick it up very well, and we all said that this team needs someone who can finish at the rim. Don't have to be a scientist to see that one.

HOOPSWORLD | NBA News, Rumors and Information

Quote:
The Detroit Pistons have long favored a slow and methodical brand of basketball, eschewing the fast break in favor of clock management, limiting possessions as well as mistakes. Quite literally no one put the brakes on more frequently, as the team ranked dead last in offensive pace in 2006-07.

While it's too early to say that they've ripped that strategy out of the playbook, it was quite clear in the first preseason game against the Miami Heat the Pistons are trying to open things up.

"I think it's something we've stressed in our training camp was our ability to be aggressive and not let teams take breaks," Flip Saunders said after the game. "Push the ball up, and if you don't have something, then get into a quick attack. Don't turn down open shots when you have them, but make quick decisions with the ball and not hold the ball."

We've heard Saunders say he wanted to take advantage of his young second-unit by opening the throttle, but on Monday it was the starting lineup that set the tone.

Empty the Bench - Fantasy Sports, Fantasy Football, Fantasy Basketball, NFL, NBA

I didn't see this posted anywhere here (my apologies if it has been), but it is a very thoughtful season preview for the Pistons. It also goes very in depth into Flip Saunders' strengths and weaknesses.

Thanks, TaShawn. This was a very good read indeed. Lots of good info. Did make me think about the Flip-KG parallel. If it is true then we can't have Flip stick around and ruin our rooks.

This article reads like it was written by one our forum members. I have an educated guess who, but am not saying. LOL

SG – Daniel Gibson

Second Team

SF – Michael Redd

I have to admit I love this quote:

Quote:
C – Ben Wallace
Cost per rebound in 2005-06 - $8,125
Cost per rebound in 2006-07 - $19,488
Cost per playoff win in 2005-06 - $750,000
Cost per playoff win in 2006-07 - $2,666,667
Having your division rival solve a potentially sticky financial problem for you? Priceless.
