These picks today tell me that Acker and Blalock are not in future Piston plans.

We don't know what trades Joe has up his sleeve. We don't know Acker's intentions, maybe he'd rather stay in Europe and Joe doesn't count on him coming back. Let just chips fall where they may and evaluate this off-season when it truly ends.

Looks like it.

I won't miss Blalock.

I was hoping Acker would make it but it looks like he just didn't have quite enough.

Log jam at guard, and power forward

Weak at small forward and center

It needs to balance out. We will see what trades happen after Chauncey signs somewhere.

Milwaukee is the only team left that could be interested in CB and offer significant contract. I don't think he's going anywhere.

I don't get it- unless there's a plan behind it, drafting 3 guards makes absolutely no sense. From what I've heard, Stuckey could be pretty similar to FlipM. And at #27, Splitter was still available- draftexpress.com listed him as the 2nd best C available.
I'm slightly dissapointed. Still no backup 3. Tons of guards but no real backup PG??? There definetely has to be somthing in the making or this simply doesn't make any sense.

Stockpile at one position is a great poker move. If you have a full house, you can maneuver around for the royal flush.

Detroit stacked at guard prospects, with the sure thing testing the waters.

Seattle just loaded up on small forwards. Let the trading begin!

Re: Afflalo, CB, Rip, Blalock, Acker, Flip Jr.,Stuckey???

I like the stockpile. Last year the perimeter was our weakness and we just got three perimeter players - all offering different skill sets. Yes, I know on paper it looks like they are only SG's. but I know for a fact there is much overlap between the picks and what postions they can play. As starters you need more defined roles / positions, but for bench guys this is how I would fomr my team. Get a bunch of versatile guys and play them in the best context of the particular game,

Absolutely. And if we can get one solid backup out of this draft, the rest is all gravy.
