Yeah, I'm with you Bill. I think I'll hold off on joining the Stuckey Hall of Fame Club for now.

I'm holding off on joining the SHOF Club at least until I read what 357 decides. But his name IS Rodney so that bodes well.

I generally have to watch a guy in three NBA games. Summer League games, well, its not quite as good for a measuring stick, but I have done pretty good measuring players from their summer league play before. I will be watching the next game, as it is on NBA TV, live, Monday night at 6Pm. (At least on Comcast here in Flint)

I will put that another way. If a player can't play, I can tell that from summer league action. If there is some promise, it takes NBA games to tell how far a player can go, given experience. At the latest, after our third exhibition game this coming October, I will tell you what the potential of Stuckey is. If he just can't play basketball in the NBA at all, I will be able to tell you that by the end of this summer league. (Of course, I hope thats not the case. From the few comments I heard so far, sounds like he can play some hoops.)

Lee:

If your opinion of Hot Rod is not higher than it is of Blalock's then I think you need a new DVR or whatever you use to break down your plays.

Look forward to reading what you have to say about Hot Rod

That is is nickname by the way. Not something I made up.

It's not over until Fennis Dembo & William Bedford are starters.

I believe Blalock can be a decent backup point guard. Better by far than what we got from Hunter or Murray last season. If he ever gets his shot straightened out, heck, he could start in the NBA. Blalock's strengths are his defense, and his ability to dribble the ball inside the defense and find open players, on a consistent basis. (And this even without his shot going all that well)

That is my point. Fair enough you like Blalock's game. Al I am saying is off of what I saw today Hod Rod is already way above Blalock.

Hot Rod's biggest problem today, was his throwing those entry passes while standing still. Maybe he could get away with that in college where the average player's height is a lot less, but he is too short to be able to do that effectively in the NBA. He should learn that. Of course if he is throwing entry passes to a seven footer than yes he can do it from a standing position, but not when it is to someone short like JMax .

I wish I could have seen the game. I tried, but all I could get was the audio. Anyway, please keep the comments about Stuckey coming. I will read them eagerly. For instance, how fluid was his decision making?

He also had problems on defense with Louis Williams who had 32 points. Stuckey had trouble keeping Williams in front of him leading to a lot of his fouls. Williams is very quick so whether it was a question of Stuckey not having played in a while, inexperience or not being capable at this point of guarding quick guards we will find out.

It was Afflalo who forced Williams to throw up the air ball at the end of regulation.

Quote:
The Pistons also learned something about Afflalo. When Sixers point guard Louis Williams started rolling in the fourth quarter -- he finished with 32 points -- Afflalo asked to be switched onto him. On the final possession of regulation, Afflalo's one-on-one perimeter defense forced Williams into a desperation airball.

Afflalo, who finished with 14 points on 5-for-13 shooting, also made a three-pointer to open overtime and assisted on the winning basket. He played with intensity, too, once slamming the ball to the court in frustration.

"I want to win every game," Afflalo said. "I don't care what I'm doing. Regardless, I want to win every time. It felt like the Final Four to me."
