Re: Detroit Pistons Summer League

Things to be excited about:

1) Cheikh Samb - Does he really look more like Nene and less like Manute? Can he impress enough to have a spot on our bench in '07-'08? Will he be the future Mutombo?

2) Stuckey - How much will he impress?

3) Amir - Lock him up long term and turn him loose on some Summer league Comp!

4) JMax - Does Joe have something against the other teams in summer league or what?

5) Ali Traore- I picked him as a potential second round steal prior to the draft. It would be nice to see him catch on with us.

6) Afflalo - Will he be another one of Joes big steals?

Feel free to add to the list

Sure hope so. I wish it would work out for this year and alleviate a need for a new center.

2) Stuckey - How much will he impress?
That's up in the air.

I'm more worried about his PT during the regular season.

4) JMax - Does Joe have something against the other teams in summer league or what?
Let the guy improve, it doesn't hurt any. Also, good for his confidence to beat up on some people.

5) Ali Traore- I picked him as a potential second round steal prior to the draft. It would be nice to see him catch on with us.
May be a sleeper indeed.

6) Afflalo - Will he be another one of Joes big steals?
Joe has a history of good late first round picks, so hopefully it is inline.

Feel free to add to the list
That would be great if all this comes to fruition.

Re: Detroit Pistons Summer League Tracker

It's important for Max to play in his 3rd VSL. Today's player doesn't get enough offseason work in (my opinion). An extra set of practices, and 5 more sub-NBA scrimmages with significant playing time cannot hurt.

I'm excited about fielding an All-Piston starting lineup, something few if any other SL teams can boast.

Stuckey
Afflalo
Maxiell
Johnson
Samb

We should be able to kick a lot of butt with that lineup.

Re: Detroit Pistons Summer League Tracker

Unfortunately, NBATV Canada is not showing the games at the right time, or at all. It's just another big joke on us.

I will try to catch the webcast this evening. What I saw yesterday, the stream was not very smooth.

If these five were the starters on an expansion team, and the team had an average bench, would they have the worst record in the league? My guess is no, but a lot of it would depend on how Samb looks against NBA competition.

Re: Detroit Pistons Summer League Tracker

I'm not sure NBATV is showing all the games in the U.S. either. My TV listings indicate that they're only showing a few random games, and only on tape delay.

Not sure about NBA tv, but it appears that all the games are available on the internet. I'm watching Golden state now, and the quality is pretty good.
