What happened to Darko?

5 games, DMC has

4 appearances
Averaging 2 points
8.5 MPG
All of his stats are up (albeit in small increments to match his small increase in minutes).

But there are rumblings about Saunders already...

I guess my question is, if the Pistons are playing this well, this early and the basketball is exciting, is that more important to fans than Darko getting PT in the second quarter?

just win

i voted for just win. i'm still feeling like the development of the bench and winning can coexist. i put just win because putting darko in the game is about winning. like flip said darko can help us win this year. last game at phoenix was just a tough game for darko to get minutes in. it was a close game most of the way and phoenix usually always goes small and just runs and guns. darko will get minutes in portland for sure.

I have to think that a lot of the Darko supporters are going to be getting steamed about Darko's lack of pt. Most of these guys of course feel that wins are secondary to Darko. Consider the fact that with the great past two seasons we had these whiners spent most of their time compalining about Darko's pt irregardlessly of the fact that we were winning games.

I expect a big anti Flip movement any day now from this bunch of ninnies.

I can see it now Flip is a Lair!! Just wait.

Its important for Darko to get meaningful minutes. But more importantly, this team needs to forge an identity of solid execution and winning. That is happening now. Flip will start rotating darko in at least in december. The starters need to know the plays, the counters, the switches...once they get that down pat, flip can change the rotation...change the rhythm of the team. But there must be something that their changing from...and can go back to.

I think it was mainly a matchup problem with the Suns that prevented Darko from getting in the game, the Suns use a small lineup most of the time. I would also like to add I was really impressed last night with how the Pistons came back, with how everything seemed to be going against them in the 3rd I was fearing that they would get caught up complaining to the refs instead of "D"ing up. The season is young, Darko, Delfino, JMax, and everyone else on the bench will get their chance to play.

Fire Flip now!!!... he obviously doesn't care about our 2nd round picks development.

Just messin'... so far Darko has looked about as lost and dissinterested as last year. He did look decent to good in the Preseason... it seems like there's something with the bright lights and reduced PT... maybe this kid has to play 15-20 minutes to get his " blood flow" going?

All I want to see is balls to the walls effort out there... and treat every rebound like your mama's life depended on it... that's not much to ask for a kid that doesn't have to worry about pacing himself.

last year we lost the finals partly because of big man foul trouble. a lot of lb supporters were supportive of not playing your young 7 foot shot blocker irregardless of the fact that tayshaun prince is not a power forward. even though we lost the biggest game of the year not playing darko was more important than winning.

it's already been proven that playing darko does not cause losses. darko has already proven that he responds to playing time. flip needs to find him some minutes. i also think the slow start of mcdyess has affected darko's minutes. flip needed to get mcdyess going before he worried about finding development minutes for darko(i agree with this move). to me mcdyess has actually been stinking it up this season. darko surely could have played better if not as well with similar minutes. the year of darko is just starting.

I agree. If he belongs in there he won't be held back. So far it looks like Flip knows what he's doing.
