What he said was "3 first round picks in the rotation".

He never even said anything about rookies, even though that was probably what he meant. But he said first round and AJ was not a first round pick.

The full conversation went something like this: Amir would be a lottery pick if the draft was held today, so in essence, its like gaining 3 first round picks this year. (Amir, Stuckey, and Afflalo.)

That's really the genius of Joe Dumars. He likes players who can play and defend multiple postions. If you're going to see these two guys on the floor together (Max and Amir), then you can expect to see a traditional big who can spread the floor. Obviously, Sheed is going to be a big part of what we're trying to do. I wouldn't at all be suprised to see, at certain times, a Sheed, Max, and Amir frontcourt. That could be dynamic.

Max in the pivot, Amir in the high-post, and Sheed spreading the floor...that could work.

Agreed. I have him as the 4th-6th best prospect in this draft.

He's special.

Yup.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Pistons attacking again with this fresh blood. Last year the word passive would have best described both the defense and offense. Our defense seemed to be on their heels more without Ben and the offense almost never had anything going towards the rim....resulting in defenses that could stay at home and contest jump shots.

And while aggressive play results in a few more mistakes, the trade-off will be well worth it to see Amir running the wing on a fast break, Max dunking on everyone, and Stuckey breaking down defenses for easy buckets (his own and his teammates).

I will be SHOCKED(barring trades, etc.) if we don't see that frontcourt. I think it works well on both ends. Teams will go crazy trying to guard 3 post players that can score like crazy, and with Amir being almost 7' now, that's a nice size package(except for Maxiell).

Do we have a confirmed height for Amir?

The general consensus for those who actually are in the know is 6'11".

He's not 6'9" though. Everyone who has seen him says he grew.

I have heard this. But I'd rather get it from the verifiable source. Also, how much does he weigh now? That would be interesting too.

Many sources seem to think he has grown to 6'11", but nobody talks about any additional weight. Still must be around 210-220........

That would be a bit strange if he grew 2 inches but his weight hadn't changed.
