How about 31 points for boobie in the deciding game?

Forward-center Chris Webber is talking to "a couple of teams," but his status for next season likely won't be decided any time soon, a spokeswoman for Webber's agent, Aaron Goodwin, said

We most likely won't know anything up until close to the beginning of season. I wonder if Web would want to skip training camp altogether.

Re: Bring Back Webber?

Is it fair to say that Joe Dumars has shown no interest at all in resigning Webber? All the comments I have seen have come from Webber.

My take on JoeDs comments regarding Webbers return were lukewarm at best. Sounded like there would be intrest only if other avenues failed.

I wonder what those other avenues are? I know Joe's not going to tip his hand. Maybe he has a trade or two brewing.

I don't think JD does negative. There's either positive........or SILENCE...

That's kind of what I am thinking, silence means no interest. Let Webber make the best deal he can with someone else, there is no need to talk his value down.

Re: Bring Back Webber?

Absolutely we should bring him back. This is a no-brainer to me. He proved he can play the 5 spot in our scheme. He got us points in the paint (one way or another) time after time. C-Webb is an all-star talent subject to his injuries.

If Kander can do half as good with Webber as he did with Dyess, Webb would be fine. He brings muscle, smarts, talent and experience to the table. A MUCH better option than (a) Nazr or (b) any other available option.

So he can't play defense. What else is new? If he can lay some wood, hit his dayum foul shots (here that C-Webb?), and find the flow; we will be allright. Somebody needs to wake up any poster who thinks Samb's gonna play anywhere but the DL this year (short of injuries). They are dreaming!

Webb, Sheed, Prince, Dyess, Amir and J-Max look like a formidable frontcourt to me. And Nazr ain't a bad 7th guy either. Get C-Webb locked down Joe....so we can get to work on chemistry.

Re: Bring Back Webber?

I'm not sure why you guys think he should come back.

I don't like U of M and was never a Webber fan. I always looked at him as if he was a choker. That being said, I was all for signing him last year and was very excited when we got him.

He did well during the regular season, but totally disappeared in the playoffs. I looked at it like if we had given someone else his minutes, maybe they would have contributed a bit in the post season.

Why get him back. He only played a few months for us before burning out. If he plays the entire year what can we expect from him?

I'm not against signing him per se, but what can he really give us when we need it?

Re: Bring Back Webber?

Don't forget that our defense actually improved when he joined the team. That was caused by the increased offensive efficiency, which allowed our defense to fully set up more often.
