Pistons (potential) All-Stars

Rip Hamilton

Shooting 50%+
Averaging career high 22.3 PPG

Chauncey Billups

Career High 45.5% - 3P%
Career High 9.3 APG
Career High 17.2 PPG

It's early, but I think we have two very good candidates for the All-Star game. Rip may have a tough time beating out fan favorite Vince Carter and MVP candidate Dwyane Wade but Chauncey may eclipse Iverson and Kidd if his #s stay up and the Ps keep on winning.

how sweet would it be if there was an entire pistons backcourt in the game.

If we have the better record in the East, Flip will coach the East squad. I think the coach picks the subs for the all-star game. Hope we can get a couple of our guys. Again, I think we will be snubbed for the all star game.

actually all the coaches in the league vote for the subs, but they can't vote for there own players. i hop we get someone else, but ben gets on the team chauncey, rip, sheed, and tay all have the skill to be all-stars but they won't have the crazy stats. all though rip is scoring alot, and chauncey is very high in assists.

It doesn't matter if we get snubbed.Yes the chance to be an all-star would be nice but I think any guy on this team will gladly take the snub to rub in the ship at the end.

This team knows where it stands in my opinion the all-star game is a joke for the most part.

Eastern Conference Guards

There is some nice depth at guard in the Eastern Conference. Obviously, there is a lot more to this game than putting up points, but here are the top 11 scoring averages in the East right now:

1. Iverson 30.5 ppg
2. Redd, 28.8 ppg
3. Arenas 25.6 ppg
4. Wade 25.3 ppg
5. Hamilton 22.3 ppg
6. Jefferson 20.8 ppg
7. Francis 20.8 ppg
8. Johnson 20.0 ppg
9. Marbury 18.2 ppg
10. Hinrich 17.8 ppg
11. Billups 17.2 ppg

Yes, unfortunately there are a lot of top guards in the East.

I just wish that when the coaches did the voting, instead of asking themselves what such-and-such's PPG avg is, they would ask themselves who they'd rather have on their team.

In my totally unbiased opinion, there are only two or three PGs in the league who are better than CB. One is Nash, and MAYBE J-Kidd and/or Iverson, although I would argue that Chauncey has really closed the gap and is at least close to Kidd's equal at this point.

AI's a totally different kind of player, so it's a bit hard to compare them.

i've got to say nash, and ai are the only pg's better than cb. yet i could make a case for chauncey he's the best defender out of any of the 3 especially nash, and i'd have to say i'd choose him as my pg in a tight game down the stretch.

rip and chauncey are making great arguments for being first time all stars. if the team continues to dominate, i have to believe that at least one of the backcourt will be and all-star. if only one, i'd hope it was chauncey.

This would apply to the Spurs as well. Would it be embarassing if snubbed Pistons and Spurs bought a seat for their 'ship trophy at the All Star game? And they just sat there rubbing the trophy all game.
