He is wrong in his assessment of Tay, but he does have a point about a feedback effect with shotblockers. It is nice when Ben and Sheed have your back. Tay probably wouldn't be as recognized as a great defender if he were on a team like the Celtics.

One thing I know though, is that Tay would not call someone else in the NBA a poor defender to prop up his ego.

Someone is suffering from an acute case of "hater"ation.

It sounds to me if Pierce is just starting to audition for a trade. He realizes he's on a sinking ship without a life boat or paddle. He starts spouting off, Boston tires of it, and he gets dealt. Hopefully, they can work out a deal with Toronto or Atlanta. Or the Knicks. Starbury for Pierce.

I think Paul Pierce needs to watch some video tape of the last 3 seasons. He needs to focus on these match ups Tayshaun's defense on TMac, Kobe and Reggie Miller and then take his foot out of his mouth.

When the teams meet, Pierce also may be pulling Tay's foot out of his (expletive) after Tay kicks it for him.
