Don't guards usually develop a post up game when their first step is too slow to blow by their opponents or their body starts to feel the affect of years of getting pounded on from driving to the basket or if they are above average height for their position?
As I recall Joe D. was an good dribbler but not known for being quick and fast on offense.
On defense he had great balance, excellent lateral movement and good hands,
I think Hot Rod is a lot quicker and has a lot more hops than Joe D. did.
Of course that was many years ago when Joe D broke in so I might be recalling only his last years post Bad Boys.
