Delfino Injured

It looks as though Carlos Delfino won't be playing for Argentia, he has a pretty serious knee injury.

I think this is the same problem that he encountered a few years back (The year he was very tenative in his recovery and refuse to play).

Do you still think that we got short changed in this deal? Anyone remember last time he injured himself, he had to go to Argentina to talk to daddy?

A second round draft pick is looking pretty good right about now.

LOL. What about all of the others (Darko, Ben, Stack, Grant, Chucky, Smush, etc.)? Once a Piston, forever to be either massacred or glorified...

What about Hairy Back Hubert Davis? He seems to avoid the "fan penalty" all the time.

Re: Delfino Injured

Quote:
Delfino injured his knee in the Tuto Marchand Cup and could sit out Argentina's game against Uruguay in Las Vegas on Thursday.

``It is the same knee I underwent surgery on two years ago and that's what makes me worry most, as I cannot stretch the leg too much,'' Delfino told La Nacion newspaper on Sunday.

``I know it's not serious, but I worry because I cannot get out of my mind memories about how much I have suffered with this knee.''
Looks like this guy is totally mental. Years later he's still freaking out about an old injury. Good riddance I say.

Re: Delfino Injured

I was really scared when I first saw the posting thread about Carlos being injured. He's got a right to be concerned with an injury to a knee that had surgery on. Last year he played in all 82 games and the playoffs so obviously being healthy and playing every day is a goal when you're a basketball player. He's one of the few NBAers playing for Argentina this go around so he doesn't want to let his country down but I bet the Raptors want him to sit it out and not risk further injuries. I don't think he's a mental case at all, a professional athlete is like a well-tuned sports car and you want to be hitting on all cylinders. This is Delfino's only passion to play basketball and he was obviously really concerned about his knee since he went through a long rehabilitation 2 years ago following surgery. So get better Fino and I'm looking forward to the Pistons playing the Raptors this year to see what Carlos does against his old teammates.

Re: Delfino Injured

Thank goodness we traded this guy before the injury. Otherwise we'd really be stuck with an albatross. You think Nazr, Flip, and Dupree are untradeable? How about Delfino with a reinjured knee and a seriously damaged psyche? Thanks for the picks JoeD!!!!

Re: Delfino Injured

We traded John Long to Seattle for 2 second round picks. Just some random historical info for y'all.
