Re: Pistons Depth Chart 07-08

I find Dyess at center intriguing. Love to see Antonio in the starting 5 (because he's a great rebounder) and Mohammad backing him up. Can Dyess' knees take it?

Re: Pistons Depth Chart 07-08

I would welcome seeing Dyess start and play 20 - 24 minutes at center. Then have a combination of Mohammed, Sheed and Maxiell taking the remaining minutes at the 5.

I think we would all agree that Dyess' interior defense is better than Nazr's, even playing against opposing centers.

Dyess coming off the bench at C would be interesting. You have room for Maxiell and Amir at 4. It worked great on NBA2k5 at least.

However, it seems to me that the C position in FLip's offense is the red-headed step child. I can only hope that Antonio's ability to hit 18 foot jumpers makes him a viable threat at the 5

Re: Pistons Depth Chart 07-08

Dyess has got to take some leadership here. He's been a great asset for the past couple years as a happy 6th man, but now he has to embrace a greater role.

With Dyess and Sheed in at the same time, we will always have a post threat. The other can roam to create space. We'll also have very tough rebounding, shot blocking, and mobility for the fast breaks.

His knees should be able to take it if he doesn't get starter's minutes. But starting the game, ending the game, and becoming one with our best unit should be his directive.

Maybe we can get some Nelly-ball going with the bench.

McDyess probably should start, but knowing his fragile psyche not sure it is going to work. For some reason he opposed starting, even if he doesn't get starters minutes. It has been that way ever since he signed with Pistons.

I hear ya, but Tashawn's got it right. Dude needs to embrace a bigger role. This whole "I don't want to start" mantra is getting old to me.

Trust me, I'd love for Dyess to do just that. But if it is going to affect his play then where is the benefit?

I think Jarvis Hayes will be backing up Prince at the SF.

At least that was Joe's purpose in signing the guy.
