I'd feel better about Banks if he had gone thru LB's PG bootcamp. Lindsey does create good offense ...

Lindsey does create good offense via the t.o.'s he creates... not much more effective offense than dunks off t.o.s...
At this stage in his career he should just be used as a specialist and protecting a lead late in the game.
He relies on his wingspan and quickness... it will be interesting to see if he can regain the mobility after the injury (old farts recoup slower).

Arroyo looks better in this system. I'm betting Hunter will as well. The idea is to shoot on instinct and not run the clock down passing to death. That was a big problem with LH last year, he would end up with a lot of shots taken with 2 seconds on the clock.

Lindsey can stroke the 3 when he is on. I think he could be very effective in spot duty. A dramatic change-up from Arroyo. Confuse the heck out of opponents. Intense defensive pressure = Havoc = Detroit Basketball.

Should we just get on with it?

When it comes to Lindsay, who has been a favorite of mine since he came in as a rookie, I really have mixed feelings.

On one hand I see what he can do with someone like Wade. That lock down defense can come in might handy.

On the other hand, using Carlos more and more as the season goes on, without his losing minutes to Lindsay, will improve his defense and his offense is better than Lindsay is likely to generate.

There is going to come a time when LH will be gone, and sometimes I wonder if we are hurting ourselves by prolonging it when we could be doing more to develop CA, CD, ME, etal.

I guess it goes along with my feelings the same way with holding onto Elden and now Dale, when we can use that time to get a younger player ready sooner.

As a 72 year old, I guess I should be rooting for the old timers, but I guess I am not one to hold onto a player who is past his prime when there is a talented youngster just chomping at the bit.

I guess that is why I am sitting here typing and someone else is coaching the Pistons.

Call me crazy (and now somebody will), but I can see situations where I'd play Hunter AND Arroyo together -- one to run the offense and the other to defend the opposing lead guard, particularly against bench lineups that don't have two strong backcourt scorers. We've got size enough to cover for them, and it makes a disruptive change of pace.

I don't think that's crazy... we did this with James & Hunter...
I'm not giving up on Arroyo as a trapping defender just yet... it really depends on the matchups... as long as the opponent doesn't have the size to post up on LH... he's much better suited on offense as a SG.

You need a quick guy hovering around who can make Hunter give up the ball after a steal. Otherwise Lindsey will try to lead the break ... and I swear to God there is no guard in NBA history with less ability to convert a simple 3 on 1 break.

That was exactly the role Mike James played. I don't see a lot of quicks on this roster. Athleticism, yes, but the only true burner is Rip...

lindsey should have spot defense duty only. we are playing games with only 2 point guards dressed. that means flip has confidence in delfino and tay that they can play some point too. hunter just stay ready for the playoffs.
we are scoing much better off of stops though. whenever lindsey made a stop last year larry wouldn't let him push it up the floor for easy points he'd make him set up a play, but with flip he can be more effecient on offense because flip will let him try to create quick plays off stops.

Maybe I am just to big of a LH fan but I think he can push the ball well. I think he is going to be way more effective in CFS system. However, I think we are not giving enough credit to CA (I listened on Radio) but it seems like he had a couple of good steals in the Boston game in the 4th. I think a CA, LH lineup would rock!
