Neither UM or OSU knew that at game time.

The Spartans could have been spoilers.

The MSU basketball program was pre-season ranked #5.

The Pistons led the league.

The Wings led the league.

All-in-all, I think yesterday ranks right up there as worst day.

Bad days

How about when Bird stole the ball in 87, or Pistons lost game 7 to the Lakers in 88, or when Pistons lost game 7 to the Spurs? Those were all much worse days (for me, at least) than yesterday.

THIS WEEKEND'S PUKE POWER RANKINGS

1. Michigan Football
- Playing not to lose, ironically, is the reason Lloyd doesn't win more. Please resign, Lloyd.

2. Detroit Pistons
- After 8 games of hiding their weaknesses with wins, suddenly they catch up to Flip's crew in gloriously shameful fashion.

3. Detroit Lions
- Penalties & injuries. Always something. At least Chuck and Roy looked good.

4. Detroit Red Wings
- Are they so old that they're already tired after 20 games?

5. MSU Basketball
- It's early, but come on. Cramps? How weak.

6. MSU Football
- Obviously the worst team on this list, but who really expected them to win yesterday? And you gotta love John L. Smith. That guy's antics could make the ugliest win watchable.

i didn't experience the first 2 ones but it must of felt like hell because i was pissed when we lost the trophy last year. yes yesterdays game was horrible, but we didn't have our legs behind us, and all these other games are not in the playoffs or final tournaments it just isn't the worst day. i am almost 100% sure we'll bounce back wednesday against the nuggets, and you have to remember we have an 8-1 record when we only played 3 games at home, yesterday was just one of those games where the pistons were just going to lose, and dallas really wanted to run the ball since we came off a back to back and they wanted to be the team to finally make us lose so they were a lot more determined. now that this win streak has come to an end expect the bench to play a lot more and give the starters some rest, not only that but they should help us get a better lead or if the pistons are down they should halp us comeback if they play right. Antonio just has to have something happen for him to do better he's just struggling very bad, i also think j max can come in and contribute too.

What's the point of ending any thread unless, perhaps, it has gotten nasty? If someone still wants to talk about a subject, where's the problem?

The day Barry Sanders retired was pretty tough.

Oh, my ... MSU loses, U-M loses, Red Wings lose, Pistons lose, Lions lose! Is there no end to it?

I've been around a long time -- 64 years on these pages, Dan -- and I can't recall anything like last weekend, when all of our teams were smoked like dopes. Thank goodness for the Tigers, huh?
