A lot to learn

Listening to Saunders before the game Tuesday, it's hard to think that Rodney Stuckey will see any game action before Christmas.
Even if he gets cleared for contact drills by Friday -- which Saunders is optimistic about -- it could take at least another two weeks before he will be game ready.
"We just don't have a lot of practice time," Saunders said. "We have to get him some contact It's not like we're talking about a veteran player who's been sitting out. He has a lot to learn."
Will Hot Rod become the next Mateen or Will Blalock?

This doesn't surprise me, but reading it is just awfully depressing.

Why couldn't it have been Murray that got hurt? Fate can sometimes be awfully cruel.

The one consolation is that with Hot Rod effectively missing so much time and then getting probably just a few minutes here and there until the all star break he may not run into the "rookie wall" problem.

This is really depressing.

Murray time is fourth quarter

Re: Hot Rod Out Until Next Year?

Its understandable that there is a delay but Flip Sr. almost seems happy about it so he can continue to play his vets off the bench.

Re: Hot Rod Out Until Next Year?

Over the last few games, the only vet off the bench who's gotten minutes that would presumably go to Stuckey has been Lindsey, seeing as how Flip Jr. has only gotten garbage time.

There are 4 games between the 26th and 31st.

At the Nets on the 26th
Home and aways vs the Pacers
Home vs the Bucks on New Years Eve

Re: Hot Rod Out Until Next Year?

My biggest concern is not when but how. Flip will have Stuckey in the lineup at some point, Joe will make sure of that. My biggest question is - how will Flip incorporate Hot Rod into the rotation. I am hoping for the extent of 10-15 min per game with some time in meaningful minutes and all the garbage time he can get, hopefully with Pistons playing well quite a bit of that.

Yea, if you're going to make something up for not playing a guy, at least come up with something clever like "he doesn't talk enough."
