Forget Pietrus/Wilcox, Delonte West/ Watson and Thomas are languising on SS's Bench

Forget Pietrius or whatever his name...Seattle Supersonics have a boatload of prime players who are getting no playing time because PJ is in the youth movement.

According the the CHicago Tribune, Delonte West haven't even unpacked his bags and s living in an efficiency, no stability there.

I have always liked D West and Earl Watson. They both play defense, Wilcox seems to be getting better and better each year however, his playing time is not consistent especially with the dozen or so draft picks Seattle had last year.

It is very obvious that the Sonics are experimenting with their youth. We can give them some expiring like Brezec and Flip (homecoming) for one of those guys who could bolster our bench for the long run.

I am not too keen in giving up Hermann though. Honestly, I thought J Hayes would be a little more consistent than he has. I was one of the few that sung his praises when traded to the Pistons.

If we could get a Wilcox and a West (expiring contract), what a steal, but if they wanted J Hayes I would have to say salavee, JH.

Not to rain on your parade, buuuutttt....

Delonte West is struggling to get on the court right now, dealing with Plantar Fasciitis all season.

Earl Watson is a serial pouter and he is pouting about splitting minutes at the point with Ridnour even though he is starting. He will be getting far less minutes here.

Chris Wilcox has struggled to stay in the starting lineup, being beaten out at times by Kurt Thomas and Nick Collison. He is also dealing with some injuries. He appears to be getting back on track now.

Kurt Thomas is 35 and a little banged up.

Wilcox is about the only viable option but then he would be taking away most of Maxiell and Amir's minutes, which most people here would not be too happy about.

Why can't people understand that we do not NEED anyone. Whether this team wins it all will be based more on the productivity of Tayshaun, Rasheed, Stuckey, and Maxiel. Afflalo and Amir will be like adding icing on the cake, their contributions will help, but we're not that dependent on them. So, the question is........Is Wilcox an upgrade over Maxiel? Is Wilcox and upgrade over Dyess? Is Wilcox an upgrade over Rasheed? Is West an upgrade over Stuckey...hmmmmm? None of those guys are going to come here and excel in a limited role.

Lest assume West will heal soon. I would rather have Stucky/Afflalo over West and Amir over Wilcox. Its just more exciting to me since I don't know the potential of our young guys yet.

It does appear that Dumars is commited to a youth infusion of our own ortherwise he would have signed Webber.

I agree but I am all for a trade that will allow us to move up to a lottery pick in this year's draft without having to give up anyone except for Herrmann, Brezec, Murray and a draft choice or two.

What knucklehead is going to swap picks with us for Flip Murry and Walter Herman? Might be able to get a 2nd rounder though.

Exactly, what I mean is this: wouldn't any team like to trade a couple of scrubs to get a lottery pick back?

Re: Forget Pietrus/Wilcox, Delonte West/ Watson and Thomas are languising on SS's Ben

Okay, now since we have went completely around the world on my post, guys, guys, guys.

I am not saying let's get rid of our scrubs and bring someone else in that can chew up the younguns minutes.

However, what I am saying is this; if and that's a big if, have someone who can come in and contribute right away, like Jarvis H who is known to lose his J. If this happens in the playoffs, here we go again with tired legs because Tay will have to play more minutes. Sure Afflalo can play, but who then will back up Rip and let him get some rest.

If we can get a steal from Seattle, then let's go for it especially if it just means giving up Flip, Brezec, "get the message"

Yes, I do believe that Seattle will make bone head moves, they are top loaded and ready to dump.

Both Wilcox and Delonte can bring it on any given night. We talk about injured players, hell Jarvis was injured every year in his career except for this one, is he hurting now since he is with a team that has NBA championship written all over them.

I like the team as is; however, as in the words of Joe D. himself, and I quote "I am always looking for pieces to make our team better"
