Time to bring back Samb and test him out while we still have 10 games or so to experiment with. If he can block and misdirect a few shots, that may be all we need even it is for just 6-7 minutes. The old dogs might have the experience, but do they have the athleticism to keep up with those twentysomethems. Why wait until next season for Samb?? The window is closing fast on Sheed and Dice....and that latter hasn't stopped anybody lately and those other two youngsters tay and Max are too inconsitent to be relied on with out another body thrown out there when one of them decides to disappear.

I get that, but our defense has been the reason for the last two losses, and Afflalo usually plays with a majority of the starters most of the time anyway.

I just don't think our offense is a major problem even with the bench. It's more the (bad) shots that we take, and strange rotations.

The glaring need is a center. Everything else is good enough. Besides if we were going to after offense we should've picked up Brent Barry off waiver wire.

I think Stuckey and Afflalo have shown glimpses of promise for the future, but Dumars isn't convinced these guys are 2008 playoff-ready. That's why Juan Dixon is now on-board.

It would make sense for cash to be included in the deal, if the Raptors have the same ownership as the Leafs. That entertainment group is all about the bottom line, not winning. I could see them selling end of the bench players....

Toronto has a full cadre of mediocre guards and Juan found his way to the bottom of that barrell. I don't buy it. We've already moved a number of cast offs through here with no success. Mo Evans. Flip Murray. Nazr Mohammad. Jarvis Hayes. What makes Dixon any different?

That makes sense in theory if Juan Dixon was actually good. I'm not sure you would want him playing in the play-offs either. He was awful in TOR.

If I am not mistaken Dixon won a title at Maryland was ACC player of the year and the mvp of the final 4. I dont live and die college bball but I remember this kid was a force. Joe likes guys who play with heart,(Afflalo) and guys who play 4 years of college ball.

Re: Juan Dixon acquired for Brezec

We need another big body but big bodies are not always hanging low on the trees near by road side.
Might be JD was just doing a favor to the Raps by this swap while we didn't have to sacrifice anything, sometimes a trade may unnecessarily to be a beneficent one.
Recently, I was wondering why don't we have some partnerships like Memphis / Lakers, Celitcs / Timb, Sonics / Spurs or even Cavls / Bulls.

If Juan Dixon was magically transformed into a decent player, it would be a decent move. But the guy is obviously worse than the options we've already got on this team.

And I have always thought this "don't play young guys in the playoffs" thing was an absolute joke. Rookies in particular are some of the most dangerous players on the court in the post-season. Go ask Daniel Gibson or Tayshaun. You don't bring in a proven scrub vet to take their minutes in the playoffs just because you're scared there's a chance they might not do well in the playoffs.

Re: Juan Dixon acquired for Brezec

Absolutley pointless trade, we dont need ANOTHER guard, and Dixon isnt better than any of the guards we do have already. At least Primoz gave us a bit of depth up front.
