That solution would also help to keep Dyess out of foul trouble and free him up to play aggressively toward the end of the game.

Just a sampling of his foul trouble:
Orlando- 5
Orlando- 5 (28 minutes)
Chicago- 6 (33 minutes)
Sacremento- 5
Charlotte- 6
San Antone- 6 (in only 26 minutes)
Boston- 6

These were all in January.

Why does Dale Davis keep coming up? Do we honestly know anything about what he has been doing the last year? He might weigh 500 pounds and be lying around on a beach or something.

500 lbs? The guy is only 38 and has about 5% body fat.

There have been 2 reports which lead us to believe that DD is back. 1) the Pistons started buy-out negotiations with Flip Murray yesterday, and 2) Dale Davis has been hanging out with players and was recently in the Pistons locker room after a game.

If we are buying out Flip Murray, then we are doing it to bring in a player. Unless it is going to be PJ Brown, or Don Reid, then Dale is the obvious answer. Or, if Joe thinks that we need a 3-point shot in the playoffs, then he could just go with Blalock.

Sounds good to me. What is the delay in signing Davis?

You're right about Blalock. He did shoot the three.

Don Reid is 34 years old...which of course is 4 years younger than both Dave Davis and PJ Brown. what is he doing these days? he played one game with the Pistons in the 02-03 season and hasn't played since...do we still retained his rights or did he retire?

I can't believe he's only 34. The problem is that he was 6'8" when he retired and I doubt he got any taller. He should be very well rested however.

I really hope that our players feel like they are the underdogs now.

Agree here.

The real battle will be out west. I honestly believe Joe D is thinking let us get out of the east, and then I like our chances. He probably thought the Celtics is our only competition in the EC, and felt/feels confident we can come out on top in a 7 game series.

The west will be a dog fight, hopefully whoever survives from the west will be worn out and will be easy prey for the EC Champs (hopefully Pistons).

As Stepen A Smith said; who is going to score other than LBJ for the Cavs? I honestly don`t see them as a threat to our advancing in the post season.

Another thought - winning a championship after adding 3-4 core players in mid season is a very difficult task that has never been done to my knowledge.

Here is what they are losing:
Hughes- 12.3 points in 30 minutes per game
Gooden- 11.3 points in 30 minutes per game

Here is what they are getting:
Smith- 11.2 points in 23 minutes per game
Wally- 13.1 points in 24 minutes
Delonte- 6.8 points in 22 minutes + 3.2 assists
+ Ben Wallace

It seems to me that they are getting the best of both worlds. They will now have guys who can score just as well with more efficiency and better defensive options.

Are those career stats? Or current stats?

Better defensive options? Really?

Those are current season stats.

Ben Wallace > Gooden on D.
Joe Smith + Delonte > Hughes
Czerbiak is slightly better than ________.

By the way, did anybody notice that we took over the top spot as the best defensive team in the NBA?

#1) Detroit
#2) Boston
#3) San Antonio
#4) Houston

Considering the big lead that Boston enjoyed previously, this is quite an accomplishment. KG being out probably didn't help them any.
