| Are we too tough on Joe D. and the Pistons? Check this out... Lakers, Jazz get top grades; Nuggets not so much - NBA - Yahoo! Sports Trade analyses of ever team: I thought they would give Joe D. an incomplete or a "C" at best...boy, was I wrong! "Detroit Pistons What they gave up: Nazr Mohammed, Primoz Brezec, cash. What they got: Juan Dixon, Walter Herrmann. Analysis: Give Pistons GM Joe Dumars credit. Even on the rare occasion he makes a mistake, he usually doesn’t need long to correct it. Rival executives were amazed to see him dump Mohammed’s contract. On Thursday, he turned Brezec into Dixon, giving the Pistons another scoring option off the bench. Detroit might now buy out Flip Murray’s contract. Grade: A."

Financially the Nazr move was gold, and Brezec sucked, even though Dixon isn't a position of need, at least he doesn't suck, it's kinda like having John Long back in the day as your 5th guard. |

(I was talking about John Long's 2nd tour with the stones, sorry) Brezec was WORTHLESS, Dixon is OK and gives us a good jumpshooter, and more importantly 3 point shooter off the pine. I really want a time machine and Elden Campbell and sCorliss for this team. We need a tough 3 who can get to the line, and some kind of post presence, and a competent STRONG backup 5 for 8 mins a game TOPS. And anybody who can post up worth a damn and doesn't fade away 95% of the time. GET DYESS BACK ON THE BLOCK, I don't care if he fades away 75% of the time at least occasionally he drops off and up and under or gets somebody a wide open J. You just killed my only basketball thread in the last two years. You may indeed be right, but that aside, I was just trying to show that people on the outside are looking at it like Joe done did good... Now, we both know none of this matters anyhow (See Flip Saunders all time playoff record threads). I mean, why trade for a guy so we can beat Boston or Cleveland in the regular season when it all becomes academic in the playoffs. At least Flip has an excuse this year. No shame in losing to Boston... ![]()
