Cavs or Magic

Who would you rather face in the 2nd round?

With 23 games to go and a 6 game lead over Orlando and 9.5 game lead over Clevleand I don't think its too early to assume that the Pistons are safe for at least the 2nd seed.

The race for the 3rd seed is still up for grabs between Clev and Orlando. Orlando has a 3.5 game lead but that can change. Toronto is down by 4.5 but I am not including them since everyone would pick them and realistically it would have to be a pretty big upset for the Raps to beat the Cavs. I also assume Orlando will beat whatever team is the 6th seed.

Another factor is if the Pistons pass Boston and get the winner of 4 vs 5 instead of 6 vs 3.

All things being equal the most likely scenerio is that Orlando or Clev will emerge as the team the Pistons will have to play in the 2nd round.

1st thought would be Orlando but this is not an easy question namely since the Magic are a lot better than they were last season. Pick your poison between Superman Howard or Lebran James.

I am going with the Cavs because I think it would do the Pistons good to prove that we can beat them in the playoffs. Kind of make up for last season.

I'll go with the Magic because the Cavs got quite a bit better.

Having more distractions doesn't mean that the team has gotten better. i do like Joe Smith though. they should not have beat chicago.

Re: Cavs or Magic

I figured more people would pick the Cavs. Lose that series AGAIN and Flip is on the hot seat. Win, and Flip is in the DRIVERS SEAT.......

Re: Cavs or Magic

We have an answer for Dwight. Just have Sheed bully him and he'll become a turnover machine. Sure, he'll still get his dunks and probably put one of our bigs in foul trouble, but he won't go into that unstoppable mode.

Lebron and Ben are way more troubling. Lebron is borderline unstoppable when he chooses to get to the rim. He'll get all the calls and basically make our players feel like they can't play their normal game. Ben is just scary because of the way Chicago took care of us this season so far.

Re: Cavs or Magic

If we have to face the Cavs again, need to have them already beaten up from a 7 game series with the Celtics, and then we can beat them in 5 during the conference finals. We can't go to six with Flip as the coach, cause we know how that will end.....

ORL. Let BOS handle the new Lebrons. They seem to be good at it. I could care less about getting revenge. I want to get to the finals, and win.

Besides ORL has no big men outside of Dwight, and with (and without) the addition of Theo, we're more than capable of handling him.

Not only for revenge and the fact that it would be more fun to see our Pistons beat the Cavs. I think it would really boost their confidence for the Boston series and quite the Cavs fans who would claim that they could have beaten us.

Re: Cavs or Magic

Going thru both Cleveland and Boston would be too exhausting for me - not to mention the Piston players. I only want to have to go thru one of those teams - we'll be fresher when we get to the finals. It would be cool to beat both of them, but the goal is to win the Finals - and I think we've got a better chance if we don't have to fight them both along the way.

The West representative will be worn out from their battles; if we're fresher, it gives us a better chance of jumping on them early and securing a strangle hold on the series.

Lebron and the three-headed monster in Boston are just TOO dangerous! Orlando is tough, but I don't think they're on the same level as Boston and Cleveland.
