The Pistons vets have given me the impression over the past few years that they think they can discipline themselves. "We can turn it on whenever we need to."

Yeah, against Seattle.

Man...is Tommy Heinsohn the most annoying announcer in the world or what? He makes Bill Walton look like a wise old sage.

The funny part of the above quote is that while Heinsohn was criticizing the Pistons for not playing their bench enough, the Celtics actually played their bench fewer minutes.

I just posted this in another thread. Not only discipline in attitude, but discipline in the basketball sense. The fundamentals, taking good shots, passing the ball, to quote LB, "playing the right way". It takes discipline (as well as good gameplans/adjustments which we also don't have which may be a reason the players sometimes get frustrated whenever whatever isn't working) to win the playoffs. I don't see how with the same coach we're going to magically get it when we haven't the entire time he's been here.

But the Celtics starters had three days rest. For some reason folks are overlooking that part of the equation.

Its not just about the minutes, it's about the timing as well. Flip has deplorable timing when it comes to substitutions, timeouts, adjustments, getting a tan, etc.etc.
