Who is most likely to pull off an upset?

Boston-NJ -Set in stone, sweep

Detroit-Toronto
Orlando-Philly
Cleveland-Washington

Can't guess their seeds, but considering how well Washington and Philly have played, and Toront though playing bad is a good team, wouldn't be suprised to see an upset.

Rip and CB have had their way with Toronto this year, but we haven't done much against their bigs.

Max if the Celts leapfrog us, Dumars must put on his thinking cap and rectify the situation. Yes it would be an upset, it's the Celts, dang them.
We can do them on paper.

Depends on how they lose. If they get tired again then you can't have a team that chronically cannot play past the 2nd round. Thats just not making it no matter how talented you are.

Trading some of the starters would most likely be a step back for a couple of years so I can see Dumars issues with this.

Playoff Matchups?

I agree, I can't see Joe D just blowing up the team because we lose to the Celtics. Though, we all know he has the guts to make a change when necessary.

That being said, It looks like Chauncey and Prince are hear for a longer haul. The most likely starters to be on their way out would be Rip or Sheed, and its unlikely that both would leave unless we were getting a truly great player in return.

I hope that we can overcome the celtics this year, and that our transition from old to new is an easy one, brought on by expiring contracts rather than drastic trades.

The playoffs will obviously be a big factor. Maybe our starters knowing this is a possibility will give them even a little more motivation.

Does Flip have the horses to win it all? I think so.

Re: Playoff Matchups?

Wishful thinking

1st round

Bos-Cle

Det-Mia

Orl-Phi

Was-Tor

Then, once Boston beats Cleveland in the 1st round in a 7 game series, Stern decides to grant them another chance but they'd have to revoke their 2nd round pick, it's Bos and Cle again! Woohoo!

Seriously:

I think

Bos-NJ/Atl - its not hard to imagine a win, but likely a sweep

Det-Tor - scary series for us, IMO, but I think we can survive 4-2

Orl-Phi - Team that wants to rise vs the team ON the rise. Turkoglu vs AI, Howard against anybody on the Philly bench, but though I'm pulling for Andre Miller, Sam D and the teamwork of Phillly, Orlando gets this in a hard fought series.

Was-Cle - Aw man, Lebron crushes Arenas and his walker. But Butler and Jamison will throw up so many attempts that they'll make it interesting. 4-1

I wouldn`t pick the Wiz over the Cavs, however, this series will not be a pushover for Cleveland. The Wiz are playing very well this year, without Arenas.

Hopefully, for the Cavs, Ben Wallace will be at full strength because Washington`s front line (Haywood, Jamison, Butler) along with Songaila and Blatche off the bench are better than the Cavs front line, IMO.

Not to mention the Wiz are actually playing better defense these days!

If the Wiz steal one of the first two games in Cleveland it could be interesting.

Re: Playoff Matchups?

Looks like it's going to be Philly in the 1st round. Stupid refs!

We need a heavy dose of our young athletic players in this series, and a new strategy on AI2.
