Also, Haywood has really improved during the second half of the season. The 1st round matchup with the Cavs should be very interesting. Arenas has already said, "I think everyone wants a shot at Cleveland right now. They haven`t been a very good team since that trade"

Leave it to him to say something stupid like that, now he has the Cavs and the league office upset! They don`t have a chance in hell now......LOL.
Well, I'm gonna root for Washington to go as far as they can until they play Detroit. I'm not saying they WILL go far, but I'd like to see it. Jamison and Arenas are two of my favorite players. I like Butler too.

Ugh. Hearing the word penetration in a basketball context always makes me kind of queasy.

What was the last time Pistons under Flip didn't make it past the 1st round? Aren't they 8-1 under him in the first round?

Yeah, they swept a team in the first round for just about the first time ever under Flip, didn't they?

I'm not so much worried about losing in the 1st round as i am about 40+ min for the starters and a 6-7 game series.

I believe ORL will put up a fight this year, and the last thing we need are 2 grueling series before BOS and the beloved refs.

edited to add;
Also this may sound strange, but sweeping teams makes me really uneasy. I don't know why. Maybe i'm just used to our Larry Brown esque series. And if you think about it in the last few years the only team i remember sweeping an opponent was DAL and well all know how well that turned out. The Spurs always manage to lose at least one game in a series.

I guess my thinking is if you're relying on defense you might lose 1-2 games, and maybe sweep if you are absolutely dominant. That ORL series i felt like we won with our offense which is never good in the long-run.

We are all going to be worried based on previous experiences with Flip. The hope is that now that he has the bench he can trust he will put some trust in it, that he's actually learned from previous failures, and that Joe is more hands-on this season, as he promised.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Playoff Matchups?

Just watched the replay of the final play of the Philly-Cleveland game. That call was brutal. Z just shoved Dalembert into Brown. If you call anything that would be offensive foul on Z.

Re: Playoff Matchups?

Philly will prove to be a formidable foe. Still would be huge upset if Detroit lost.

Look at these potential first round matchups in the West:

(3) San Antonio (55-26)

(6) Phoenix (54-27)

(4) Utah (54-27)
(5) Houston (54-27)

Imagine if you're any of these teams and you lose in the first round after the great season you've had. Wow.
