| Sheed kick out of practice after fight with Saunders AUBURN HILLS – Rasheed Wallace, the Detroit Pistons flamboyant All-Star, was sent home from practice today after nearly getting into fisticuffs with Pistons head coach Flip Saunders. According to unnamed sources, Wallace became very vocal when Saunders called Wallace out for “dogging it” during drills. Apparently, Wallace challenged Saunders manhood and the two began exchanging obscenities. The exchange escalated to the point of pushing when both men had to be restrained by players and assistant coaches. During the fray, assistant coach Dave Cowens was hit by an inadvertent Wallace elbow and was taken to a local hospital. “I have never seen anything like it,” said Pistons guard Lindsey Hunter, who has been in the league since 1994. “You hear about all of these incidents with Sprewell and Iverson, but you would never think it would happen with this team.” Detroit currently has the second best record in the NBA at 52-21. With only nine games remaining until the playoffs, the Pistons certainly do not want this to be a distraction heading into the post-season. “This team is very tight,” noted Detroit center Cheick Samb. “In my country, fights like this (happen) all the time. I didn’t expect this. I hope Coach Cowens is okay (because) he teaches me much basketball.” NBA.com: Official Home Page of National Basketball Association |

| Re: Sheed kick out of practice after fight with Saunders I saw this in my RSS reader and cracked up. 1) This is a Christmas thread topic for detteam and The Low. 2) The Pistons control the media too tightly for something like this to get out. The only way this is reported same day, is if Chris McCosky tries to predict it. |
