Offering no mention of Flip, Billups sorta confirmed what many of us have surmised over the last 3 years. The players rely on each other...sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

TNT's broadcast of recent locker room speeches by Flip have seemed less than inspiring to me. It's almost like the guys couldn't wait for his babble to be over with and they just wanted to hit the floor.

Wouldn't this team be even better with a coach the players respected?

No. As long as they rely on eachother. Firing flip wont solve almost anything. You have to break core.

I don't think MOSES could inspire these guys. Game plans come from Flip. Inspiration comes from a multitude of experience. I think they're BEYOND the fire and brimstone approach also.

Rome: "You know, when you look at your head coach, Flip Saunders, is he the kind of guy that can get your attention and motivate and inspire you guys, or because you're veterans do you just know what you need to do to get it done?" Typical JR, I know it all question. He truely wanted to say,"Does your coach suck, or can you rise above him with player experience?" He lost the impetus of the question, can he motivate, with his condesending.

Billups: "Well I think, you know, because we've been there so much together with each other, you know what I'm saying...that's where you pull your confidence from. You know, some people misunderstand it as, you know, we're arrogant or cocky...and we're not either of those, but we're confident because we've been in so many situations...every possible situation that you could be in in a playoff series, we've been in. And we've been able to overcome a lot of them, not all of them, a lot of them. So that's where you pull your confidence from." No, we avoid him at all costs. You know that. If he didn't give me control of on court activities, you know, I'm the court leader, then he wouldn't have lasted 3 months. Fortunately, you know, he did or I couldn't corral Sheed and you know I need him in my corner.

There ain't but 3 or 4 coaches NBA players respect. If there isn't open rebellion we're fortunate.
