Are you sure it isn't just a sine qua non?

Pretty sure the Pistons will be wearing shades again in 3-5 years...
I'm high on this years draft selections... in the future we'll have some excellent expiring deals to work in some more youth... and of course J.D. is the master of the MLE...however something will have to be done in the next couple years with our spiraling salaries.

I believe Darko will be at least a decent center (or traded for a solid player)... Jmax an athletic Corliss... Acker the surprise of the bunch.... Amir an inconsistent Swift type player (sometimes gr8, sometimes disappears).

Or they could all suck and we get a lotto pick

And tayshaun did play his way into the lineup. When given his opportunity in the playoffs, down against Orlando 3-1 with no hope, Tayshaun saved the day. That is why Curry was no longer with the team. Tayshaun stole his job....
For some reason in Detroit, it's "if I don't get to play, then I am bored".
...Coaches are not stupid, they play the guys who give them the best chance to win. A coach who develops talent is usually fired by the time that player reaps the reward of the development.
Wave, kinda agree with you, BUT, I heard RC got fired cuz he waited too long to play Tay (in addition to personality conflicts). So Tay didn't play his way into the lineup, he was ordered in by the front office.

And, You'd think coaches aren't stupid, and do play guys that give them the best chance to win, but RC started Curry, and Darvin, as nice as he was, had zero business on an NBA roster last year. kinda like Homer Simpson said, "You'd think I wouldn't put a price on my family's safety, but here we are."

I think you are really reaching there. Carlisle was set to return until Brown became available. The issues were strictly up front, not with his coaching. Remember, if Chauncey hadn't sprained his ankle in the Philly series, the Pistons had a real shot to make the Finals in 2003.

RC started Curry and took the team to back to back 50 win seasons after the teal era. And Darvin Ham hardly played last year.

Seriously, this scare mongering (no offense intended) about Darko/Delfino is ridiculous. Right now the Stones are 14-2, off of back to back Finals appearances, and with 3 potentially very good rookies on the bench. Darko and Delfino aren't as important to the big picture as some people want to believe. It's ludicrous to suggest that the organization should alter it's plans to include them when the grand plan is winning and neither has shown a commitment to doing what it takes to be a winner.

I don't think Carlisle got fired over Prince, LB over Darko, and unlikely that Flip will be fired over any player. The only way a coach gets fired in Detroit is if he loses the vet's respect, loses or most importantly, UPSETS BILL DAVIDSON in any way.

I hope you regain conciousness before the game tonight.

This isn't about scare mongering. If we get no injuries for the rest of the season, including playoffs, then this discussion is mute. Our starting 5 are playing awesome (except Ben when his foot hurts). Flip could use any one off the bench, and it wouldn't matter. Most teams only have one or two guys they cant afford to be injured in the playoffs, we've got 6.
