Re: Six straight ECF appearances, so what, or a sign of dominance?

Thinking off the top of my head... in the 5 years

San Ant is 3-0 in the finals (didn't make the WCF in the two off years)
Detroit is 1-1 in the finals
La is 0-1 in the finals
Miami is 1-0 in the finals
Dallas is 0-1 in the finals
Cleveland is 0-1 in the finals
New Jersey is 0-1 in the finals

So it can be argued I guess the only team besides San Ant that we would trade places with is Miami and there one title and then there total self destruction... I'll stick with us

Yes, I'm very proud of the team's accomplishments. But I think two ships in 6 trips would be just about right. Winning this year after the last two years dissappointments would be nice. I really don't see it happening though.

I totally agree. I didn't expect us to get out of the first round without AA and Amir playing, so from there on out, everything has been a gimmie!

Consistent excellence. Not so what. Not dominance.

I'll go a step further and say that Flip has to at least make a STRONG SHOWING in the finals to be rewarded with a new contract. Getting to the finals and being blown out in 4 or 5 games IMO is not quite good enough.

It's just like going to the Olympics but failing to bring home the Gold. We have gotten the bronze in the last two outings.

It's just like waiting to fight the ultimate boxing match, the Las Vegas odds have you at 15-1 and yet you are TKO'd in the first round, you didn't get the belt.

It's like the 9th inning, you are down by 2, bases loaded with 2 outs the count is at 3 balls 2 strikes, and you strike out.

It's like a football game with the game tied and you have to go into overtime, you win the coin toss and defer to the other team to receive the ball, the other team win caused you GOOFED.

So close and you just couldn't make the cut. We have to get the crown, a few people will remember you for having reached 6 consecutives ECF. Everyone will remember you if you win the Crown.

I'm down with that, BDL.

But alas it should also mean the end of Flip's reign at the palace and new ruler of next season.

Aren't the Celtics the supposedly best team this year?

We need to win another title to declare dominance. If we don't this Pistons team will just look like a bunch of under achievers.
