| Re: who would you like to play at ECF Cleveland you have the LeBron factor, no big man for Sheed to slow down, which negates one of our biggest strengths and Varrejao and Ben running wild on the boards (we seem to never block out these guys who have no other role), and then us taking away the inside and allowing copious 3's to booby, wally scjahgohaogihaoihagiak, pavlovic, etc, etc, etc, and then our stick men of Tay and Rip having to try to deal with an NFL TE in LeBron who's allowed to stiff arm on the hardwood. Boston - ignoring the 1.5 seconds where C$ owned a 2 year guy in Tony Allen who isn't even playing in the playoffs - HAS UTTERLY DESTROYED DETROIT down the stretch in all 3 games. yes there were plenty of circumstances involving the 3rd meeting in Boston, but Boston had to have outscored us by 25 points down the stretch in all 3 games. I think Jesus Shuttlesworth is nicked up and in a bad rhythm though which helps. The thing that sucks about both teams is that they have "that guy" who if he brings it your fate is not in your own hands (KG, LeBron), they decide whether you win or lose. Also both teams are WAY WAY WAY better at getting to the stripe than Detroit is. Nothing would surprise me with either matchup for Detroit, other than them going less than 6 games. |

Are our parade of weak jump shots going to continue falling? Or will we get something different than the last couple seasons, like consistent post scoring from Sheed and a 'to the rack' game from Stuckey so we can get some drive and kick or trips to the foul line other than C$ aborting a good jump shot for a triple clutch J in an attempt to draw a foul. | Re: who would you like to play at ECF I guess the Cavs are really still in my head from last year. I'd prefer to play Boston, but it's not a strong preference. I'd really rather play neither of these teams. I hate to admit that LeBron barreling to the basket recklessly slamming into two or three guys, often finishing and also getting a call from the refs every single time...it's got me spooked. I don't want us to get beat that way by him, and I'll just hate it if we have to play defense all careful because of it. I think playing the Celtics would be better for my sanity, but not by much. I'm kind of already a wreck just thinking about it. See I think we had the easier matchup with Orlando, and I think that might become clearer as we continue our march to the Finals. Now is it an advantage to have had a less challenging team than the one we will face next. I dunno. That's for geniuses like Flip to figure out. So...Go Celts? OMG...sigh. |

| Re: who would you like to play at ECF The defense that Boston and Cleveland was playing really looked good. In games like these, any open shot is a good shot, even if it is a Sheed J with his heels on the 3-point line. Less passing will decrease the odds of a turnover. The kind of offense that we play in the regular season is just not possible against these guys. And vise versa. |
