Re: Has Stuckey made up for the Darko pick?

the true difference between most players in todays nba is whats between there ears.... they all can play, its a matter of how they prepare, how they deal with difficulty, and whether they sulk on the bench or get more resolve.

Remember MJ the best basketball player of all time.... was cut once, alot of other great players probably have gone thru the same sort of things.... they took the setback as a challenge and came back strong...

Darko has tools that many big men can only dream off.... but he lacks so much between the ears....

I think he falls into the old baseball saying... million dollar arm but a 10 cent head.

That is what I like so much about the two rookies we have this year, combined with aj and maxy.... they always bring it, be it if they play 20 mins a night or 5 mins once a week. For terms of effort alone I am happy with the having of stuckey on the bench in the place that can be said was darko's slot.

I think as somebody said imagine maxy with darko's body.... That is why drafting is such a crap shoot, you can't judge how players are going to react in training camp with stints on the bench and how they will play under the lights of the NBA.

Thoughts:
Maxi will never earn a finger wave from Dut Mut.
Could we trade Hooper for a Laker Girl ?
All Orlando needed was a coach change. They're about 5 pts better than last years team over 5 games rather than 4.

Considering Darko has never done anything worth talking about, yeah Stuckey has done a lot. He's at least restored some hope in the future.

Unhappy Re: Has Stuckey made up for the Darko pick?

If Stuckey can get us out of the ECF vs. Boston, then the pick is worth it (over Darko) many times over.

First, we've got to get Chauncey, Rasheed, Tayshaun, and our "D" back up to speed.

Fix those problems, and we can (and will) win this thing. Don't fix the above problems, and Flip Saunders can start to look for another Coaching gig in a few days.

Re: Has Stuckey made up for the Darko pick?

stuckey is a going to be a great player but i wouldn't say he made up for losing darko. darko could have been a rare find. guys like melo, wade come along often. in all honesty we have darko and fino to thank for stuckey, jmax, aa and amir. if it wasn't for them i don't think the pistons would have changed their development (no development) policy.

darko was mishandled before anybody can put a bust label on him. people say he showed a lack of heart but i disagree he never backed down from anyone during meaningful minutes and played well. the only thing that can be said of him is that he isn't a garbage time great. i don't think your #2 pick should have to "earn it" in garbage time. durant is throwing up brick after brick, dhoward has an nba great brought in to work with him, bynum has an nba great to work with him, bosh was given endless touches, melo was given endless touches. that's how you develop a lottery pick. darko has two shots in garbage time after he sat for 45 min to prove himself.

also we would have one more than 1 championship if we had just played darko decent minutes. darko can check duncan 1 on 1 i've seen it with my own eyes. he's did it in memphis without a great defender next to him to help out. imagine how well darko would have defended duncan with sheed, ben or dice as his weakside help. darko led the league in blocks in the preseason i think that would be nice to see instead of the layup lines the pistons have become known for.

bosh, melo and wade are no more guarantee of a championship than darko. most of the times we lost we had trouble with big men not with something an injury prone wade, drunk driving melo and skinny bosh could have helped with.
