I'm thinking that we should probably trade all of our draft picks for future year's picks. We don't need any more young players. And their addition will just stress Flip out and ruin their development.
almost agree with you on not adding anymore talent.... unless we can find a good fit for the sf spot.... otherwise resting prince with hamiltion and AA against smaller sf's and some combination of our bigs against bigger sf's.

As much as I don't think AJ and AA to a lesser exstint will be huge in this years playoffs, they will be huge next year.. keeping all our starters in the 30 min range and less for our bigs will extend this groups window for championship runs....

Hopefully AJ keeps getting stronger we need him to be able to man up against bigger players next year so that wallace and dyss can keep the mins to a minimum, Max is what max is... and undersized big that has to be used smart... don't htink he'll ever be a full time starter or somebody that can play 30 mins a game, but for that 15-25 min back up he's found a great niche.

ESPN - 2008 NBA Free Agent List - NBA

There's some pretty decent names on the FA market this summer and Joe's got a decent amount of cap space to work with.

I think the team will look a LOT better next year!

Childress would make a fine backup swing man.

- Wonder if Marion will stay in Miami?

- Wizards could be a very different team next year.

Marion = head case (VERY talented head case)

There are a lot of names on that list that are intriguing. If I'm not mistaken, the Pistons will be set up to be one of the teams that has the most cap space to work with this summer. I expect to see a different starting lineup than this year's version as well as some veteran bench help.

I like this Dumars guy! He seems to know what he's doing.

Re: Pistons Future

going to be interesting off season for sure, could be lots of turnover all over... not sure how much we will get involved with a regular rotation guy. the only real spot we have a need is at backup SF and how many players that are "good" players will want to come to detroit and be princes backup... our guard postitions are solid maybe a suit wearing guard just in case.... and probably the same thing for our bigs.... Dumars is in a position of strength this summer for sure.

Unless he decides to make a trade of one of our starters I don't see much change going into next year, our bench will be better just because of its seasoning....

Do you think that Dyess will be a starter next year?

I don't know.

We have a tendency to talk about Dyess as if he is the weak link, the guy most likely to disappear, but so far he's been pretty valuable in the playoffs, probably the MVP of the Boston series so far.

He's been solid in the post season this year for sure. Let's hope that he keeps knocking down the open J's.

I agree dba.

I think that the "weak link" talk stems from the fact that Tony's been the stop-gap solution for replacing Ben/Nazr/C-Webb. Dyess was a bench guy that assumed the role of starter. Lately, I think he's doing an admirable job!

Long term though, I'd like to see Antonio McDyess go back to being a "25 minutes off the bench" guy and upgrade that position through either free-agency and internal development.

...not to mention, Maybe Dyess decides to hang 'em up after this season if the Pistons win the Larry 'OBrien.

if you ask me to answer with my head... I think he will be, but in a more limited min range... closer to what he did as a bench player....

if you ask me to answer with my heart.... I am hoping that Amir goes out and earns the mins and by mid season shows he's ready for the job and never looks back..

I just don't think Max will ever be a full time starter in the league, he's just not big enough to take the banging and give out the energy that is required for him to be effective in a starters roll.... He's still trying to recover from the first two games of the Orlando series in my mind.
